Many people are impacted by the Restricted Movement Order, including our Group Menjahit ladies in our local communities. Help us empower them. Following the Registrar of Societies' ban on all events, activities, programmes, conferences, and gatherings until 30th June, we are suspending our programmes including the terrapin release initially scheduled on 21st March, Turtle Camps in schools and soap-making classes in local communities. Our River Terrapin Conservation Centre in Kg. Pasir Gajah will also be closed to visitors.

“We started the community empowerment programme in Kampung Pasir Gajah last year with lotion-making classes. Then we initiated Group Menjahit, because not all the women wanted to make lotion, and commissioned them to sew our batik-themed merchandise.
We developed the products with them, including bags, bandanas and straw pouches. Three women formed the project’s nucleus, but the group grew and we now have 10.”
