Prior to COVID-19 outbreak, we planned to intensify our women empowerment initiative with the local community from making multipurpose lotion to making eco-friendly soaps.

We managed to conduct three classes and was preparing for more in March and April before MCO was implemented.

Instead of wasting perfectly good raw materials currently stored in the office, we are going to make and sell hydrating soaps that are free from harmful chemicals, to help recover our costs.

Southern River Terrapins are extremely special and rare. They are only found in three countries, Thailand, Cambodia and Peninsular Malaysia and play an important ecological role in maintaining our rivers and estuaries healthy.

Ever since MCO was implemented, many have lost their source of revenue and most of the Wildlife Conservation NGO(s) are struggling with at the moment. These endangered wildlife in conservation centres still need to be fed and fully taken care of.

This MCO is indeed giving us much time to work on things we would otherwise not pay much attention to. And we're talking about our email list!
To be honest, we haven't lived up to our promise of sending a newsletter every month, partly because it is a time-consuming activity, and partly because we had so many things/news to share we didn't know what to do!

We're grateful for Pakcik Wazel who is taking care of the terrapins in the hatchery.
We needed to cancel a terrapin release scheduled on 21st March due to the MCO, hence we now have 700+ terrapins in the head-starting pond.
