Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Pelancongan, Kebudayaan dan Teknologi Maklumat negeri, Ariffin Deraman berkata, projek itu mempunyai beberapa aspek yang boleh menarik minat pelancong iaitu penyelidikan dan pemuliharaan hidupan liar terancam.
Katanya lagi, kepentingan tuntung sungai dari sudut eko-pelancongan pula adalah kerana tuntung sungai hanya dijumpai di tiga buah negara sahaja di dunia dan Malaysia adalah salah satu daripadanya.
