We missed hosting events with little kids! ðŸ˜
B.C. (Before COVID-19) we used to organise and host various activities for children.
We've hosted Turtle Camps for rural school students. During our annual terrapin releases, we've had face/hand painting, sand art, jigsaw puzzles, guess the number of marbles in a container, colouring contest, etc.
While our conservation centre will remain closed until next year (due, in part, to the impending monsoon), we're still hosting activities for children...

Continuing with our 10th Anniversary celebration, our next activity is a Batik Painting Contest! This contest is open to children aged 7 to 12 years old.
To participate in this contest, simply:

"Do turtles have ears?"â
â
Yes, they do! Sea turtles, terrapins, softshell turtles and tortoises have ears. They do not have external ears but they have a thin "flap" or "scale" located behind their eyes, that covers their internal ear bones.
â
Their inner ear can distinguish certain wavelengths (sound) and vibration in the water and on land. It helps them navigate underwater, and detect changes in water pressure that might indicate a predator is nearby.â

Snapping turtles are mostly-aquatic freshwater turtles.
