Our anti-poaching patrolling was interrupted for a week before our Terrapin Guardians were able to clean up the campsite and resume operations.
We'll post an update in a few days, we need some time to ean up the camp beds, stow them away before dive into the data we'v...

Did You Know That Leatherback Turtles Are Migrator.. 21st Mar 2022, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
Did you know that leatherback turtles are migratory animals? โ
โ
This means that they move from place to place because food is plentiful at different places at different seasons, and also to find better breeding conditions.โ
โ
This causes them to be found in many places, especially the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, and their largest remaining nesting sites are located in Trinidad and Tobago, the Northwest Atlantic and the Southeast Atlantic.โ

Conservation of terrapin is what TCS is known for. We are what we are today because of the help from the people around us. The villagers in Kampung Pasir Gajah for instance, have been helping us at our conservation centre to take care of our terrapins.
The good news is, you can also help us save turtles!
You may visit our website to Adopt A Terrapin, or to purchase bags of pellets to feed them. Donations to TCS are tax-deductible.
You may also help us spread information and knowledge about...

The Aftermath Of The Floods. Our Terrapin Guardian.. 6th Mar 2022, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
The aftermath of the floods ๐ญ
Our Terrapin Guardians were recently able to return to the nesting bank to assess the damage.
It took them half a day to retrieve all our campbeds and microchips and to clean them off by the river. We are thankful the beds weren't totally damaged or swept away in the flood!
We are also hoping that the nesting season hasn't come to an end yet. We have collected almost 600 eggs so far, and our Terrapin Guardians will continue to maintain a presence on the river ...

Did You Know That A Turtle's Shell Is Made Up Of T.. 28th Feb 2022, by Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia
Did you know that a turtle's shell is made up of tough keratin, which is the same protein that makes up our nails?
Hard-shelled turtles, such as the river terrapins, box turtles, and Asian brown tortoises rely on their shells for protection. They are able to retract their head and neck into their shell to avoid being eaten by their predators.
And because they move pretty slowly (at least on land), hard-shelled turtles' diet consists of food that do not require much speech to obtain, such as ri...
