Bay County Wilderness Dogs In Need 25th Apr 2012, by Soi Dog Foundation
Lori Brown of Panama City Florida has asked for us to bring attention to her work helping bring awareness to the growing problem of rural dumping. Bay County Wilderness Dog Rescue rescue dogs dumped off in the middle of nowhere....no houses, no bussnesses, no nothing, just dirt and woods. They don't even get a CHANCE to get adopted...unless Bay County Wilderness Dog Rescue find them. They leave food up and down theses roads EVERY night. Save what dogs they can and get them into rescues and find...

SHEBA. Very sad to have to advise that little Sheba like Hanako before her has passed away during the night. She ate well last night but was not to be. Why the Hanako hospital is so important as will then be able to totally segregate new arrivals who could be carrying these diseases.

Sheba3 25th Apr 2012, by Soi Dog Foundation
BAD NEWS FROM SHEBA. We need prayers and help.
Little Sheba like Hanako before her who reminds us all so much of Hanako is seriously ill with distemper. She has been moved to John and Gill's house, where Pammi occupies a downstairs room fighting off Parvo virus and little Sheba is in a spare upstairs room. John is not allowed in the room where Pammi is and Gill banned from entering Sheba's as the last thing we need is for either of them to cross contaminate with what are both deadly contagious...

TWIN PALMS AND CATCH BEACH CLUB.
As a recent poster pointed out it is only fair that to hear both sides of the story. The GM there has called us and sent an e mail. Will not reprint it all but the most pertinent comments which are to be applauded are as follows;
With regards to "Mok" which I was glad to hear is better, indeed he has been a guest/neighbor/friend of Catch Beach Club for many years, in fact I believe that in the last years Soi Dog at our request visited him twice but deemed him fi...

AUSTRALIAN SUPPORTERS VISIT SOI DOG IN PHUKET!... A few days ago Australian supporters - Marika & Bill flew to Phuket all the way from Sydney, Australia. Visiting Soi Dog was high on their agenda & the dogs thoroughly enjoyed all the attention! Marika & Bill have their own small rescue group (Paws for Thought) in Australia where they re-home many small & older dogs, so a visit to our old age dogs & puppy run was a highlight of their day! Thanks guys for your support & also for the generous donat...

CHRISI's BLOSSOMED INTO A BEAUTIFUL GIRL!.... Little Chrisi arrived at Soi dog when she was just 6 months old, suffering malnutrition & mange. She'd been found on the streets by some Australian tourists. She charmed us all on arrival with her wrinkly little face & sweet personality. She was shy, yet very eager for human company & used to scoot along the ground 7 curl up at our feet.
Chrisi's now 15 months old, having spent the last 10 months at the shelter. She's blossomed into a beautiful girl...

THE SAD STORY OF "MORK" 23rd Apr 2012, by Soi Dog Foundation
THE SAD STORY OF "MORK"... Gill got a call this week from a European man to say that a dog outside the "Catch" restaurant in Surin Beach needed euthanizing! She asked him why & was told he had been attacked & that all down 1 side of the dog there were open wounds. Gill explained that we do not euthanise animals without a vet seeing them, trying to save them is our top priority. At the end of the day it would be our vets decision, if that decision needed to be made.
Gill set off straight away w...

Re. yesterdays dog meat raid. A reader of The Nation newspaper makes the following pertinent comment;
"Strange thing is these dogs were transported there from Thailand districts in cages on trucks, and nobody at check points or on the road or in the villages and towns spotted nothing? And no officals spotted cages with dogs in passing CCTV cameras at road junctions! Noone spotted the trade for the dogs in the first place! Is that caring or is it that tip off's were given when tea money wasn't pa...

REMEMBER TWIGGY?... One of the saddest dogs we've ever seen. Twiggy was rescued from the Bangkok floods. Photographed here so weak, she could barely stand. Last week Twiggy flew to the UK to meet her new mum "Geraldine". She's settling in beautifully & has a new best friend - Geraldine's two year old great grandaughter "lily".
Please help us re-home more dogs like Twiggy & give these dogs the home of their dreams. See our adoptable dog slide shows here! http://www.soidog.org/en/adoptions/

Pammi Update
Pammi continues to improve & I was wanting to take her into the garden today for a run about but sadly it's raining & I don't want to expose her to the damp or drop in temperature that this brings - maybe tomorrow. Yesterday she went to the shelter for her final interferon, she hates going as she knows needles will be stuck in her - quite a wimp really :-) Cindy & Derek arrived just after her treatment had finished & Cindy took some pictures of her for me as she is sooo much better ...

Rebuilding The Phuttamonthon (Dog Island) Shelter
A Return To Dog Island.... The Bangkok floods have now disappeared and we hope for no reoccurrence this year. With your help thousands of animals were saved!
An outstanding task remains from the floods; the rebuilding of the dog shelter at what became known as Dog Island. Dog Island had been a temporary refuge for hundreds of dogs displaced by the Bangkok floods. The dogs on Dog Island captured the world’s attention and became symbolic of all...

Pammi Update
Wednesday saw Pammi go up to the shelter for her interferon injection. sill up & down at the time & I must apologise for not letting you guy's know sooner but just been so busy! As you can see it not her favourite event!
Yesterday saw her much brighter & her poo is now improving so much it is actually starting to look as it should instead of the bloody, very smelly pools of horror.
She ate so well yesterday & today is barking & wanting to play. Back to the shelter today for her last...
