Vanilla A Dear Little Soul...

Parasites, malnutrition, pneumonia, fractured pelvis... this is not just a list of diseases, ALL these is what we found on this little girl. We found her on a parking lot of a shopping mall....We call her Vanilla. She will need a big deal of treatment, medication, medical care and love. SDF in Bangkok continue to assist at other locations throughout the city that were effected by the floods. This is at Wat Ma Prow Tia (Short coconut temple). The dog and cat shelters were severely damaged and no protection from the weather. Khun Soot and other volunteers cleared the debris and with aid from SDF built new shelters using strong tent roofing that will last for several years. THE OTHER DOG. Often see comments on these pages asking what happened to the other dog featured in the famous photo of Maxine at the top of our page. Was at Phuttamonthon last week and asked Khun Ruan where she was. Was actually about six feet away from where we were stood!

Dog's Island Shelter

The Bangkok floods have now disappeared and we hope for no reoccurrence this year. Dog Island had been a temporary refuge for hundreds of dogs displaced. Prior to the floods a woman named Khun Ruen operated a shelter in this area relying on the generosity of the community. PHUKET'S "BRITISH INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL" VISIT SOI DOG! Yesterday, 40 Year 8 students from (BIS) visited the Soi Dog Shelter for the day. One of their main tasks was to make our huge white entrance wall more attractive by painting Soi Dog pictures & slogans. The kids soon got to work & did a fantastic job! "Rama" Bangkok Street Dog

BATH TIME FOR OLD STREET DOG "RAMA"... Rama was rescued from a busy highway in Bangkok, dragging herself across the road with a broken hip. She was emaciated & in terrible pain. Pammi Feels Better !

As promised a short film of little Pammi on her first day out of solitary confinement is here! She appears to have made it and beaten parvo virus. Now we can focus on getting her fur back. Will not be able to return to the shelter for some time as can still shed the virus to other unvaccinated puppies. So will stay with John and Gill for the time being who now have 10 dogs at home ! HAVE YOU MET ALDO? He's an old chap who was recently found on the streets. Aldo can't look after himself any more & was suffering malnutirition & skin problems. He's now living in our old age dog run where he receives regular meals, medical care & the company of friends. THE LUCKY 8 MOVE TO THE PUPPY RUN - CAUGHT ON VIDEO! This week the "Lucky 8" pups moved to the Puppy Run, having to leave the volunteers who've hand reared them since they were 3 days old.
