Meet Doctor Ploy and Adama...
Doctor Ploy is one fo the new veterinarians recently joining the shelter to help support the expanded shelter operations including the doubling of sterilizations to 10,000/year.
Adama was recently brought to Soi Dog suffering from severe burns after having boiling water poured on him.
Though the wound is terrible we are confident that he will make a complete recovery.

These are 310 dogs which have been rescued from the dog meat trade by Khun Bee with financial help from Soi Dog. Soi Dog has paid the transportation costs to move these dogs from NE Thailand to Bangkok.

SOI DOG MEETS SOI CAT IN FRANCE. Soi Dog volunteer Nadege adopted Eledwehn last year and has just adopted one eyed cat Phi (after whom our cat care club is named). This message from Nadege re. Phi. Our soi kids playing! :) Phi sleeps on our bed every night. Now she is the first one when it's dinner time and everything is a potential game. She really loves being with the others even if they are a bit too quiet for her :)

Dog's Island Shelter

The Bangkok floods have now disappeared and we hope for no reoccurrence this year.
Dog Island had been a temporary refuge for hundreds of dogs displaced.
Capturing the world's attention and becoming the symbol of all animals affected.
Prior to the floods a woman named Khun Ruen operated a shelter in this area relying on the generosity
of the community.

Vanilla A Dear Little Soul...

Parasites, malnutrition, pneumonia, fractured pelvis... this is not just a list of diseases, ALL these is what we found on this little girl.
We found her on a parking lot of a shopping mall....We call her Vanilla. She will need a big deal of treatment, medication, medical care and love. Please help us pay for her treatment by donating at www.soidog.org

THE MAGNIFICENT 6. These lucky 6 are on their way to airport for health checks. Saturday they will all fly with volunteer Niz and friend Mario to the UK. 4 are survivors from the dog meat trade. Rescued when about to cross the Mekong River en route to Vietnam. It is not allowed to fly dogs as accompanied baggage direct to the UK so they will first go to Amsterdam and then ferry to England. Is a big saving on sending by cargo.

One of two 8 month old pups with similar injuries picked up at the weekend hiding in bushes behind the beach near the JW Marriot hotel. Both had been clubbed. Both the eye and head wounds were crawling with maggots. The eye will have to be removed once the infection and swelling have gone down. We have called her I-Ya and will stay at Soi Dog as will the other who has major bcd wound. Extensive treatment will be required for both pups. A SAFE PLACE FOR "ALDO"... Poor old "Aldo" was found roaming the streets in Rawai, Phuket. He's an old boy - around 9 years of age & he's had a tough life. He's got barely any hair & is just skin & bone. Aldo cannot look after himself on the streets, so we've given him a forever home here in our "Old Age Dog Run".
No longer does he need to search for food or protect himself, he can relax knowing that his meals will be provided regularly every day & he'll get all the medical attention he needs....

Rama & Phimghon's Coconut Biscuit Feast...

Please take a moment to watch this great video of Rama & Pimghon two of the older dogs at Soi Dog. Pimghon's jaw was tied in wire when he arrived at Soi Dog and Rama was rescued from the floods in Bangkok just barely alive.
Their stories underscore the importance of Soi Dog's sponsorship program in helping all the neglected and abused dogs and cats. Sponsoring one of the dogs at the shelter is one of the most effective ways you can help all the dogs for which Soi Dog cares.
