These 2 shy dogs were found at a local temple in 2009 by a volunteer called "Rock" & the 2 girls were named after him - Rockess & Rocksette. They were severely malnourished when found & constantly picked on by the other temple dogs. The girls were miserable, could not compete for food & had virtually given up on living.

Gale's Story... Poor Gale, lucky Gale... Gale arrived at Soi Dog a few days ago from Kata Beach. A Thai lady, Khun Bee called and alerted us to Gale's plight. Gale lived on the beach and many people would feed him (yes he is a he!). However Gale suffered a severe injury to his head, we don't know the cause and was in serious trouble.
With these sorts of injuries they become maggot infested and develop serious infections very quickly resulting in a slow and painful death if left untreated. F...

CUDDLES WITH CANDICE...Sweet little Candice enjoys nothing more than cuddles with volunteers. She just adores affection & is so loving & gentle. She's just 6 months old & blind in one eye.
We featured Candice earlier this week & we've now found her a forever home in Germany!

MEET "O-CHING" FOUND ABANDONED & STARVING ON THE STREETS OF PHUKET
This skinny little dog was found on the streets - just in time. She's been in our Clinic for 5 weeks but is not putting on weight no matter how hard we try. We've decided to put her in with our youngest puppies during the day, so she can play & hopefully build up an apetite. She goes back to the safety of our clinic at night.

NO MORE FLOODING!...SOI DOG'S NEW WALL NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Many of you will remember the floods that endangered the 300 dogs at our shelter last year. Our Puppy Run had to be evacuated & many of the dog runs were flooded. We don't want that to happen again, so we are currently building a wall around the perimeter. This wall is expensive to build, but it's essential to the safety of our dogs.

5 YEARS AT SOI DOG!.. IT'S TIME "THAO BOW" FOUND A REAL HOME. Thao Bow is 6 years old & she's spent 5 of those years here at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket.
Thao Bow likes nothing more than to be taken on a walk around the shelter grounds & given some special attention. She's gentle, loving & we feel would make a wonderful companion.
Thao Bow shares a run with 15 other dogs & even though she's fairly large, she can be a little scared of the other dogs in her run & tends to stay up the back....

Soi Dog Bangkok Sterilization #9 at Leab Klong Song Soi 30 Bangkok is home to over 300,000 street dogs and cats this being the primary reason why Soi Dog's focus here is on mobile sterilization clinics. Sterilization has been scientifically proven by the Humane Society International and others to be the ONLY effective (and humane) method of population control. ZITI'S NEW ZEST FOR LIFE!... A few months ago, Ziti (now called Gracie) flew to her new home in Vancouver, Canada. Zit's new mum "Candace" just sent us these beautiful photos & they've brought tears to our eyes. Ziti arrived in a terrible state with virtually no hair & was just skin & bone. She was a sad, quiet girl who rarely smiled & we knew all she needed was someone who really loved her & wanted to nurse her back to health. Candice has been suffering jaundice & a respitatory infection but has now recovered & currently living in our Puppy Run. Prospero is 6 1/2 years old. She arrived at the shelter when she was just 4 weeks old & has been here ever since!... It's her turn to find a new home & experience a life she's never known before. She's a shy little dog but very comfortable with people & would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to give this girl a forever home.

Another Bangkok Mobile Clinic, in partnership with SOS Animals Thailand… Soi Dog Bangkok conducted another mobile clinic yesterday with 25 dogs sterilized. The dogs were rescued from a house in Saraburi Province, the “owner” was put to jail 6 years and the dogs were homeless. Soi Dog helped sterilize them before handing them over to shelters or adopters. Some of them were sterilized at our clinic the first day and 25 more yesterday.
