RESCUED FROM THE DOG MEAT TRADE.. BUT SAFE?
As many of you know Soi Dog has launched the "Trade of Shame campaign to bring to an end, once and for all to the inhumane and barbaric dog meat trade. Many dogs have been rescued from the illegal "Dog Meat Trade" but are they now safe? Last week a team from Soi Dog went to check out the shelters where these dog are being held.

HANAKO LIVES ON & RAISES MONEY FOR NEW HOSPITAL...
The dear little girl that stole so many hearts has worked her magic at a Hospital appeal in Melbourne, Australia last night. . Get your tissues ready & watch her appeal for the "Hanako Hospital". The Soi Dog appeal in Melbourne was attended by 250 guests who gave generously to help build a hospital at the shelter in Phuket.

Soi Dog Australia wants to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and supported our Hanako Fundraiser last night. We had an incredible time and raised over $42,000. A special thank you to Phillip and Trix Wollen who donated $20,000 on the night. We will post some pictures later.

I first found Soisam as we have called him in Soi 3 (sam in Thai) of our village last Saturday. He meowed at me when I passed and I sat down and patted him for around 5 mins. I’d noticed he limped towards me but did not immediately see his wound. After seeing his injury I knew he needed some help. However when I came back from my short journey outside the village I could not find him again.

RAINY DAY TREATS WITH TOBY & COCO!
It's the rainy season here in Phuket, so sometimes the dogs have to spend more time in their runs. This is the ideal opportunity to share some treats & have a few cuddles. Volunteer "Chris" made 2 little dogs very happy this week! Toby & Coco are soon flying to the UK to their new mum "Amanda" who's anxiously awaiting their arrival. Toby's a long term resident & Coco was rescued from the Dog Meat Trade.

A FOREVER HOME FOR COFFEE!... Coffee arrived at Soi Dog in June 2011 after being found on the street with a with a very deep knife wound on his left side. After intensive treatment at our clinic, his wound finally healed & Coffee became a permanent resident here at the shelter. Coffee always loved humans, even after his terrible ordeal & has always been a very friendly dog.

SOMPHON HAS A SURPRISE COMING!... Remember Somphon, the wise old street dog who arrived with horrible mange & barely able to walk? Somphong broke a heart a long way away in Toronto, Canada. That heart belonged to "Rebecca" who has decided to give this old dog a happy home, something he's never experienced before in his life. DUSTIE FINDS HER FOREVER HOME IN PHUKET!
Dustie has been at the shelter for 16 months, since she was just 16 weeks old. We've always wanted to find a forever home for this stunning girl & a few days ago our dream came true. Sunny and Cher are brother and sister who were found by one of the busiest roads in Phuket scavenging for foods. While they were in reasonable health they were covered in flees and mites. URGENT HOME NEEDED FOR CATALEA.. PLEASE HELP! Catalea was dumped on the steets of Phuket a few months ago. She's an elderly little dog (at least 8 years old) maybe more. She has a problem with her back right leg & does not walk properly. She's also deaf & has very limited sight.
