THE STUNNING "RED"...HE NEEDS A SPECIAL HOME This stunning dog was dumped in the middle of a busy road by his previous owners. They obviously did not want him any more, so left him in the street to fend for himself. It never ceases to amaze us how people can do this to a helpless animal.

Long time volunteer Lillian decided that SDF needed 3 new salas for certain runs & very kindly ordered & paid for them. But she forgot to ask the makers not to assemble before delivery but to assemble them in the runs. The salas have now been sitting in the grounds for 3 weeks as we pondered on a solution to get them in their runs. They could not be dismantled again & they are so very heavy. HOPE one the six dogs that left Phuket on Wednesday morning bound for the UK is united with adopter Carly. Hope was rescued from dog meat traders on her way to vietnam a few months ago. Message from Carly; Well Hope is here. What a journey for both of us! It seems so surreal having her next to me and touching her instead of watching through a computer screen! She is as soft as a lamb and so very sweet! I am totally overwhelmed right now and keep having a little tear!

SOOKIE - OUR LITTLE SWEETHEART... Sookie has lived at the Soi Dog shelter for 14 months. She was found frightened & alone on the streets with painful weeping skin. After treatment, Sookie lived in our Puppy run for over a year & has recently moved to our new "Small Dog Run". She's now 2 1/2 years old , healthy & would make a wonderful pet.

FLIGHT FOR DOG AVAILABLE TO PORTLAND, OREGON ON 17TH OCT!!
If you'd like to adopt one of our beautiful soi dogs & you live in the Portland Oregon/Vancouver area, we have a flight available for a dog leaving 17th October. The passenger has offered to take a dog to its new forever home & we would love to find a dog for this trip. The cost for the dogs flight will be approx US$300 + flight cage. That is a very cheap price!

UPDATE ON JJP........ the handsome guy from the Soi Dog Shelter in Phuket with the severe burn wounds. JJP travelled to his new forever home the USA in May of this year and we had hoped the lack of direct sunlight on his burn wounds would improve his condition. However, the burn wound still would not heal properly and it would crack and bleed everyday causing him great discomfort. Well today he went in for surgery to have the burn tissue removed. Just got word from the vet a couple of hours ago ...
