Dooby arrived at the shelter in a terrible state, poor love. He had a dreadful fungal infection all over his hairless body & weeping sores. Just look at his sad face, he's been wandering the streets for many months in terrible pain & discomfort. Yet another example of the importance of Soi Dog's sponsorship program.

Trade of Shame was co-sponsoring a fund rising event to push a new legislation in Miami Dade County to prevent the killing of unwanted pets at local shelters. The initiative is led by Pets' Trust.

Soi Dog's Vice President John Dalley received an email from Khun Paporn of Bangkok's Khlong Dogs yesterday. Khlong Dogs is run by Khun Paporn essentially out of their own pockets and they need some help right know for what is going to be an expensive effort to provide treatment and ongoing care for Ta-Phet.

Does "Kobe" Like Small Dogs...

DOES KOBE GET ON WITH LITTLE DOGS?... This is a question we were asked by a potential adopter. Kobe was rescued from the illegal Dog Meat Trade & she's a super friendly dog. We let her meet 2 of our smallest residents - O-Ching & Mayo- watch their first encounter together & see what happened.

SILKE'S OFF TO GERMANY!....This sweet girl was a victim of the illegal Dog Meat Trade & following her rescue, spent many months here at the Soi Dog shelter. We've now found her a lovely new home in Germany & her new family are anxiously awaiting her arrival.
Silke arrived quite scared, but has recently blossomed into a very sweet, loving dog. Silke will be leaving soon & we will miss her very much.

MR HAT UPDATE!... Remember Mr Hat... the sad little puppy with the fungal condition sitting in a hole in the ground in our Puppy Run? Well he's much improved & getting lots of attention from our volunteers who are enjoying taking him for walks & socialising with him.
He's such a cute little guy & we expect him to make a full recovery very soon! Thank you for caring about Mr Hat.

TREVOR & PENNY GO HOME!...
Long term expat resident Trevor came to the shelter last week looking for a little dog to keep him company & be part of his life. He chose "Katniss" from our puppy run, a sweet friendly little girl desperately needing someone to love her. Trevor fell instantly in love with Katniss & told us immediately he would call her "Penny".
The happy pair left soon after in Trevor's car & we've since heard that Penny is sleeping on the bed with Trevor & follows him everywhere...

A message from Khun Toom, Soi Dog’s Relief Coordinator for the dogs rescued from illegal smuggling into Vietnam…
Have been informed via phone from the department of Livestock and Doctor Polk last night that the Soi Dog veterinarian team will soon be wrapping up operations here at Buriram.
The situation has been stabilized and we can move teams either to BKK, Phuket or one of the NE shelters.
