Trade Of Shame Awareness

Every year tens of thousands of dogs are inhumanely transported from Thailand to neighbouring countries where they are butchered by cruel and barbaric methods. However, the Soi Dog Foundation and the Thai government are actively working to end this appalling practice.
The conditions under which the dogs are transported and slaughtered are inhumane and many die from suffocation long before they reach neighbouring countries. In reality these are the lucky ones.

Meet Spooky!...
What a great little fellow! Spooky arrived just a week or so ago at Soi Dog’s shelter late one evening after an urgent telephone call.
Khun Sanae one of Soi Dog’s animal rescue officers rushed to collect Spooky. Fortunately Sanae is one of the most amazing people in gaining an animal’s trust. Many of the dogs Soi Dog rescues have been victims of abuse but somehow Sanae is able to establish a relationship of trust with them very quickly.

PUNKS & PUPPY DOGS!.... Six lucky dogs will depart Phuket on February 28th bound for the UK, via Holland. They will be escorted by our famous UK Flight Volunteers - Zat & Izzy who are doing this trip for the 3rd time! This will make 18 dogs that they've accompanied to their new homes in the UK. Zat & Izzy arrived this week at the shelter & are getting to know their flight buddies!

This is the latest picture. See her improvement!She has a timid, gentle personality and she has been a victim to much abuse by the bigger more aggressive dogs. Topaz has been sick for a while, with 2 types of blood parasites & thru lack of food you can see she's pretty frail, & also had an ingrown toenail, thats on the mend now. We have two flight volunteers willing to transport a dog to Los Angeles on their flights which depart Bangkok late February & early March. American School Of The Hague Raises Much Needed Funds For Dog Ho

Soi Dog Som and adopter Ilse visit the children at the American School of the Hague. The students at ASH have been doing a fantastic job of raising much needed funding for the construction of the new hospital at Soi Dog's shelter in Phuket. Som and Ilse stopped by to share the day with the students and congratulate them on their hard work and generosity! The students have now raised 1500 Euro towards the hospital!
