A number of Soi Dog's supporters are following the story of the (now) 60 to 75 dogs rescued when smugglers were apprehended attempting to cross the Mekong River en route to the meat markets of Vietnam.
The rescued dogs arrived yesterday at the Nakhon Phanom shelter. The picture is of the now empty cages the smugglers used to transport the dogs.

My friends, my name is Sara Paz. I originally adopted Conchita, the sweet puppy I found on Mao Kao beach. We brought her home to Singapore last June and she filled our home with so much love that we decided to return to Phuket to find her brother, Panchito, and bring him home with us.

MEET "TAROT"....OUR LITTLE LOVE BUG!
This little girl was dumped with her sister behind the Soi Dog shelter wall two months ago. Tarot is approx 6 months old, super friendly & just adores people! She's a small dog with lots of character & would make an ideal family pet.
We took her for her first walk on a lead this week & she did surprisingly well. We also discovered she loves biscuits!

Hi, I'm Desperado and I live at The Soi Dog Shelter in Phuket. I have been here for 4 1/2 years and I am really hoping it's my time to find a loving home. When I arrived I had a bad wound on my back, which thanks to the great Vets here has now healed. It did leave a scar which I think gives me character. Murphy’s Story…
Poor Murphy at only 2 years old came to the shelter as unable to fend for himself on the streets. Murphy was suffering from a severely compromised immune system and virtually hairless from mange. Murphy when found was a walking skeleton, virtually hairless and covered in open wounds.

CHINNAWUT THE SMILING DOG - DEPARTS FOR FINLAND!

Cute as a button "Chinnawut" left today for Bangkok where he will overnight with our Bangkok Manager & then meet his adopter at the airport tomorrow morning & fly to Finland with her. Chinnawut is one of the happiest dogs alive, he's always happy, smiling & has a huge cheeky grin. Dog Meat Smugglers Arrested 12-03-2013
As previously report early this morning dog meat smugglers were intercepted by the Royal Thai Navy (Mekong patrol) in the NE province of Bungkan. It has now been reported that 154 dogs were saved.
Information obtained shortly after the arrest may lead to further arrests higher up the smugglers organizational chain.

Breaking news! MRU Navy has arrested DMT smuggler intercepted while transferring dogs from their truck to a boat at the Thai border, Mekong River, Muang Bungkan, Bungkan Province. Undercover investigators are currently following up on leads gathered based on evidence obtained during the arrest pointing to the transit points and holding area where the dogs were most likely kept prior to the foiled crossing to Laos.

FAUST - LOST & FOUND IN OHIO, USA.
Last week Faust flew all the way from Thailand to Los Angeles & on to Columbus, Ohio. She escaped from her crate on arrival at her new home & a 7 day search followed in freezing conditions. Thankfully Faust was found safe & well. Here's her amazing story!
