MEET SWEET PEA....
Pea is 19 months old & has spent her entire life here at the Soi Dog shelter after being rescued from a busy road with her sister "Pod" when just a few weeks old. Pod was adopted to USA about 6 months ago & we hope it won't be long before Pea finds a family of her own. http://youtu.be/VeJfYsxFa2E

THE BEAUTIFUL "FLAKE"....
"Hi, my name is Flake and I have been at the Soi Dog Shelter for nearly 4 years after being found on the streets. I am playful, and the most loving dog who would just love to live somewhere with a soft bed and people who can give me the attention that I so enjoy. I don't ask for much, just to meet my new forever family".

Khemmerat Sterilization Project 05-2013

A Soi Dog Veterinarian team sterilized and treated 211 dogs recently arrived at the Khemmerat facility in NE Thailand where dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade are sheltered.
There are around 1500 rescued dogs at this shelter. Additional shelters (financed by Soi Dog’s supporters) are being built as a matter of urgency at another facility at Burriam to the west of Khemmerat given the recent influx of dogs intercepted from smugglers.

Found Behind A School As A Small Pup...

THE STUNNING JUSTINE!... This beautiful young girl is super affectionate & loves life! She was found behind a School after having given birth to 5 puppies & has lived at Soi Dog for over a year now. Justine ADORES people & gets on well with other dogs. she's a stunning looking dog who has won the hearts of many volunteers & would make a wonderful addition to a family.
Justine is adoptable to Europe, USA UK or Canada.

19.05.13 – Many thanks to members of the Magic 1000 Club. http://www.soidog.org/en/magic-1000/ Because of you 3,220 kilos of dog food from Soi Dog was delivered to Thongpapoom Shelter, Karnjanaburi Province where over 300 dogs rescued from the dog meat trade and some dogs rescued from the Bangkok flood 2011 are being housed. BUM BUI & HER BELOVED DUCK POO!...
Meet Bum Bui, she's a long term resident having been here at the Soi Dog Shelter for 6 of her 8 years. Bum Bui is a real character, she adores going for walks & loves rolling around on the grass having belly rubs. This week we walked her past our ducks & she just couldn't resist rolling in the fresh duck poo. Nice one Bum Bui!!!

This beautiful female puppy (now called Patch) was found at a Burmese Labour Camp in Phuket & brought to one of our Mobile Clinics today. She is just 8 weeks old & was dumped at the camp with her siblings & no mother. Sadly her siblings all died & Patch is the only survivor. PENSRI'S STORY..... This lovable dog learnt how to survive on the streets of Phuket by hanging out near the local fresh market. After getting hit by a car, she came to the shelter where she was treated and nursed back to health by the vets and volunteers. You would hardly notice the small limp she has been left with as she is energetic and full of life. SMITHY LIVING IT UP IN VANCOUVER!...
One of our long term residents "Smithy" flew from Phuket to Vancouver 2 weeks ago where he started his new life with his mum Jen, in her Condo apartment. Smithy loves his new condo life & his daily walks in the Sculpture Park just minutes from his new home. Jen tells us Smithy is becoming more & more relaxed & even had his first "mad half hour" yesterday running around like a mad thing with his tail swishing! She says Smithy is a perfect match for her!

Roz has very limited sight & we think she probably only see's shadows. She's approx 7 years old & has lived at our shelter for 6 years - almost her entire life. Khemmerat Emergency Sterilization Project 18-May-2013...

This weekend Dr. Op from from Soi Dog Bangkok, other veterinarians and staff began sterilizing 240 dogs rescued from the meat trade at the Khemmerat shelter in NE Thailand. It is critical that all dogs rescued from the trade who are well enough to be sterilized are as soon as possible. In 2012 a disaster was barely averted at Khemmerat with unsterilized dogs mixing freely and female dogs coming into heat. Puppies born in this environment have no chance of surviving.
