TRICIA'S WISH FOR MORRIS...

A few weeks ago Tricia who lives in New Zealand, flew to Phuket to volunteer at the Soi Dog shelter. As is often the case, volunteers fall in love with a particular dog but are unable to adopt themselves. Tricia fell head over heels for 10 month old MORRIS & the 2 were virtually inseperable despite the pouring rain!..

SWEET SOPHIE OVERCOMES HER SHYNESS...

6 MORE LUCKY DOGS HEADING HOME....

There was another early start today for the Soi Dog team who delivered 6 more lucky dogs to the airport to start their journey to the UK.
They were accompanied by Hana & Peter who are their flight volunteers for the journey.
They will first fly to Bangkok, before heading to Amsterdam. From there, after an overnight stay they make their way to the UK by ferry.
A long trip indeed, but there will be many excited adopters and supports to greet them and welcome them to their new homes.

MUNNA IN THE CORNER....

Little Munna hasn't been with us long (only about 4 months), but she is breaking hearts already.
She is just the sweetest little 1 year old girl that was living on the streets and had been hit by a car so came to us for treatment. She has now healed and just needs to put on a little more weight.
She is not really settling into shelter life well, and tends to sit in her corner. We would love to find her a home where she can feel safe and loved.
Could you give this sweetheart a nice warm bed...

THE LOVELY LINUS... LOOKING FOR HER FOREVER HOME

Linus was dumped with her 8 puppies on a busy road. Four puppies died when hit by cars, one was adopted by a foreigner & 3 came to Soi Dog. Linus now lives in our shelter & is the most amazing, sweet hearted girl. She just LOVES cuddles & rubbing herself against you. She's super affectionate & has won our "best kisser" award for her constant sloppy kisses.

An important meeting was recently held in Hanoi with representatives of various SE Asian governments and the Asian Canine Protect Alliance (consisting of Soi Dog, Change For Animals Foundation Animals Asia and the Humane Society International).
The meeting focused on further steps to eliminate the illegal dog meat trade, curb the population of strays and eliminate rabies from the region.

Magic 1000 Club Food Delivery To Nakhon Phanom...
Many thanks to the Magic 1000 Club for delivering approximately $11,000 of food to the Nakhon Phanom shelter for dogs rescued from the illegal dog meat trade!
It costs around $46,000 each month to feed the over 4000 rescued dogs and to provide them sufficient shelters. More members of the Magic 1000 club are urgently needed to help give these dogs the care they deserve.

TIM TAM ARRIVES AT HER NEW RETIREMENT HOME IN VANCOUVER!...

Just a few hours ago, our lovely Tim Tam arrived at Vancouver airport after her long journey from Thailand to Canada (via Japan). She's now in the very caring arms of her new mum Susan & her family & apparently very interested in her new world & winning hearts already. Susan says "she growled at her reflection in the mirror, it was hilarious. She's wandering around the house now exploring. She has a spring in her step!!! and we absolutely ADORE HER!!"

"SUN BRIGHT" WOULD LOVE TO FIND HIS FOREVER HOME

Meet "Sun Bright"...
This handsome boy has been with us at the Phuket Shelter for the last 18 months after he was dumped at a local clinic when he just a pup of 4 months old.
He is nearly 2 years old now and is full of life, love and energy, and his favourite pastime is going for walks with the volunteers. He has plenty of friends in his run, but this lovely boy really loves human company. This is why we are so keen to find him a loving home.
