Joya was rescued 6 years ago. Wounded and with 12 puppies she was rescued by Soi Dog and a year later was adopted by Claudia in Switzerland.

HERO COMPARISON
These 2 photos taken less than 3 weeks apart show the difference in Hero quite clearly. Particularly the expression. The early photos showed despair the latest show hope.

At Long Last Clarence Finds Her Place

Today was a special day at the shelter.
It was a day that we have been waiting for for a long time. Today it was the adorable Clarence who got to leave our shelter for a loving home, and she will be living with Andrea and Neil who live nearby. She will be truly loved and given the chance to experience life as it should be for all our dogs.

After the sadness of Brigitte we are pleased to report that Hero who was in far worse condition but never lost the will to live is improving daily. Today Dr. Su announced that he can be let out into the garden area later today and mix with the other cases currently being housed there, following a distemper scare.

Soi Dog agents last week toured all the border crossings between Laos and Vietnam. The main crossing used for dogs is on Laos highway 8. The guards there said they had had no dogs cross since late April and all dogs were accompanied by Thai export licenses.
The guards were unable to show these licenses and stated were destroyed after 3 months. The Thai Department of Livestock state that no export licenses have been issued (they do not approve licenses for the export of dogs) but of course canno...
