Kangaroo came to the shelter 6 years ago after having his eye taken out by children using a catapult.

Two Lucky Dogs Are Adopted Locally

Last week saw the happy adoptions of two of the shelter’s residents to local families in Phuket.
Yukio came to the shelter when she was dumped with her sister at 7 weeks of age in front of the Swedish orphanage here in Phuket. Malibu is one lucky pup….she had been dumped outside a Temple with her Mum and 8 other siblings. Being that where they were located was on an Island with no access to shade, food or water one of the pups sadly didn’t make it, but we managed to rescue the others along with their Mum.
They all came back to our shelter and received the much needed medical care and attention from our vets, and they have all flourished.
We would love to find a home for Malibu before she gets too used to shelter...

Taa-Reua was found with a cord tied around her neck. It had obviously been there for a long time, and as she grew it had become so tight that it had cut a very deep gaping wound all around her neck.
We brought her to our shelter where she received the much needed medical attention that was required. Thankfully the wound healed well, but you can still see the mark that she has been left with from her ordeal.

Bruno was dumped at Phuket Town, not long after the 2004 Tsunami and was unable to care for himself so he came to live at Soi Dog.
Bruno is now one of the older residents at 10 years of age but he still loves attention from volunteers and likes to keep the younger dogs in line. His health is good thanks to the care he now gets at the shelter and he likes to spend his days sleeping under his sala.
