Being a street dog in Thailand can be a sad and dangerous existence. Just ask Wandor. At just four years of age, this boy has already experienced a lifetime of pain.
Wandor arrived at Soi Dog with a swollen belly and covered in wounds. His tail, his legs and his paws were all injured. One of the toes on his back paw was fractured, his legs were covered in ulcers, he had a bruised scrotum and anaemia. Wandor had also been hit by a car.

Shakey Joy was dumped over the fence of the clinic in 2005 and has lived at the shelter ever since. She has obvious signs of having suffered from distemper at some point, which has left her with a permanent shake.
Shakey Joy is now getting on a bit and lives in the Old Age Run where she spends a lot of her time sleeping on the sala overlooking the lake, and loves going for walks and having cuddles with volunteers.

The SOI DOG Shelter, May 12

On Saturday May 10th, Soi Dog held its first Open Day, inviting the Phuket community to visit our shelter and meet our beautiful dogs and cats looking for forever homes. The event was a great success, raising almost 50,000 baht and resulting in two confirmed adoptions so far!

Being hit by a car which ruptures your bladder is a very scary thing. My name is Goose, a little boy just 4 months old, and this is what happened to me.
Soi Dog picked me up from that road and has been doing everything to get me better. They fixed my bladder with an operation and gave me antibiotics and painkillers.
