I am an 8 year old girl and I have been at the Soi Dog shelter for 7 of those years. It makes me sad to think that I might be here for the rest of my life. All I want is a chance.
Everyone who meets me says that I'm a really sweet girl and even though I'm a bit older, I still have lots of energy. When Darren, my long term volunteer, takes me for a walk, we often have a little run. He always gives me time to sniff everything first though, which I really love.

An elderly lady found Ronnapee in the south of Phuket. Poor Ronnapee was suffering from severe mange and malnutrition. When the lady first saw Ronnapee lying in a gutter, she assumed he was dead but then spotted signs of life.
Neighbours called Soi Dog and Animal Rescue Officer Khun Thep picked him up shortly thereafter. Ronnapee has now responded well to treatment and is much happier than when found by the side of the road!

I am only 16 weeks old but I have had a terrible start in life. My Mum died soon after I was born and so did my sister Aramis. They were both very sick by the time they got to the clinic and although the vets tried very hard to save them, it was too late. I am Pek and I was once the saddest little boy. I have no home and I have no owner. For most of my short life, I have been suffering. A bacterial infection gave me a build-up of fluid in my tummy and meant that I hurt every day. I was crying with the pain but I had nobody who cared. I was just 9 weeks old.

Hi, my name is Winnie and I'm almost 12 years old. Even though I have a girl's name, I am a boy. I came to the shelter because I had a really bad skin condition and a nasty ear infection.

We are five little puppies who were abandoned, along with our Mum, at just 2 weeks of age. Our names are Heineken, Hedda, Henni, Heinz and Heidi.
Our Mum was struggling to take care of us after we were all dumped. She had no way of getting food or water for herself and she couldn’t leave us because she knew we would die without her. We were too young to know what was going on, but our Mum was very, very scared.

See-Nin (aka “Batman”) arrived at the shelter from a nearby temple. He was in a sorry state, with muscle atrophy to his back legs, a broken hip, and a spinal injury. It has been a long road with See-Nin, in order to get him to trust people and get along with other dogs.
