LATEST NEWS ON DOG MEAT TRADE DOGS RESCUED IN BAN WANGYANG. 24 DOGS SAVED. The album shows photos taken at the raid yesterday at an illegal butchers shop owned by 51 year old Mrs. Bangorn Mahapo who was arrested at the scene. The arrest was a success for SDF’s poster campaign, which has already seen 1,000 posters erected throughout the North East of Thailand and offer a reward for information leading to arrests. 23rd May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Want to help the orphaned, neglected and abused puppies of Thailand? You can do so by joining Shiver’s Puppy Care Club. Soi Dog picks up many young puppies every week. Most have been abandoned on roadsides or dumped and left to die. Unfortunately only the lucky ones are found and given a second chance. Sadly these very young puppies have often been separated from their mothers and have very little resistance to disease. Due to the vulnerability of tiny puppies, sadly some do not survive. You...

23rd May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

My name is Bruno and I would like to tell you my story. Back in 2004, a very scary thing called a tsunami happened here in Thailand. It was the most frightening thing I have ever experienced; I saw many tourists and locals and animals die right in front of me. That night, I was dumped outside the Soi Dog shelter. I was all alone and terrified. Soi Dog took me in and took such good care of me. It is now almost 10 years since the tsunami, a very long time that I have been at the shelter. I used t...

Click Here To Save A Dog Like Maril
22nd May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am a 7 year old girl called Maril and I came to Soi Dog from the streets of Phuket. I was suffering from mange, a fungal skin infection, anaemia, eye discharge, overgrown nails and I was covered in ticks. I had been in pain for a very long time and my eyes were full of despair. I was ready to give up. Under Soi Dog’s care, I started my long, slow journey to recovery. I was given skin medications, antibiotics and nutritional supplements. I was still hungry and drinking water, so this helped...

Please Email Cristy@soidog.org If You Can Adopt Sun Bright
22nd May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am Sun Bright. PLEASE ADOPT ME. I came to Soi Dog after being dumped at a local vet clinic over 2 years ago. I was a little boy, just 6 months old at the time. When I arrived at the shelter, I had no idea where I was. I was very scared. Some of the older dogs took me under their wing and helped me in my early days here. I have now learnt to enjoy my walks so much but as there are so many other dogs here, my walks have to be quite short. I would so love to be able to go for long walks of ove...

My name is Boomer and I am a boy of about 8 years of age. I have had a hard life on the streets of Phuket, with no owner to take care of me. I had horrendous skin problems and I was constantly covered in ticks and fleas. My lovely coat was dirty and I felt ugly and unwanted. Everything changed for me when a man came along one day and scooped me up. Nobody had ever wanted to touch me before but this man held me in his arms and told me he would help me. His name is Khun Jaroon and he is an Animal...

My name is Ringtone and I would like to introduce you to my babies, Porfai, Mangwee and Pongpang. They are just 2 weeks old and we have all been saved by Soi Dog. I am a street cat. There are many of us here in Thailand, probably a lot more than you have in your country. Being a street cat means you have no owner and no home of your own. You wander the streets trying to find food and fighting to stay alive. My babies were all born on the street too and destined for the same life. We were spott...

22nd May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I WAS STOLEN FROM THE STREETS OF NORTHERN THAILAND DUE TO THE ILLEGAL DOG MEAT TRADE I have never known such fear – I was snatched off the streets and squashed into a small metal cage with many other dogs, then taken away on a truck to cross the border. I am bigger than a normal sized dog and it hurt being in the metal cage with other dogs. Where were these people taking me? Why were there so many of us? I could hear the younger dogs crying with fear as we travelled through the night, the old...

Merlin and Tinkerbell (formerly Missu) came to Soi Dog with their brother, sister and mother, after they were abandoned at a house in Phuket when the people living there moved out. Their mother, Marshmallow, had recently given birth to the four kittens. Mummy Marshmallow was given a quiet space at the shelter where she could look after all her babies and they quickly thrived under her care. Merlin and Tinkerbell were eventually adopted by a lovely lady called Caroline, and taken to their fore...
