Life as a Thai street dog is difficult. You may have been born without ever having a human to look after you, or you may have been dumped and now have to find your own way. Either way, you are alone. When you are young and healthy, you learn to survive. You manage to find food, or some nice people give you some, and you understand how to avoid traffic and stay alive. Imagine though, that on a regular basis, something terrifying happens to you. You start to shake uncontrollably, you lose awarene...

Please Click Here To Sponsor Dorothy
31st May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Dorothy was found outside a supermarket after being hit by a car and suffering nerve damage. She was also malnourished and suffering from blood parasites and it is evident that Dorothy once suffered from distemper as she now has a permanent shake. Dorothy has been at the shelter for two years and is approximately 4 years old. Dorothy is the boss of her run and loves visits from volunteers (and nibbling on their legs), being brushed, and going for walks. You can help us look after Dorothy by ...

I Want To Help A Dog In Distress Today
31st May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am Lenon. I am a boy of about 5 years of age. For those five years, I have been a street dog, which is exactly as it sounds. I lived on the streets, with no home and no owner. There are many of us who live like this here in Thailand. Every day we struggle to get by, trying to find food, while dodging speeding traffic that could wipe us out at any moment. Many of us get sick and injured; some of us die. In my case, I developed a very nasty wound on my paw. I cannot remember now how I got it as...

Please Help Us Save Abandoned Kittens
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Hello, we are Wakko and Dot! Wakko is black and white and Dot is the calico baby. After our mother gave birth to us, she left and never came back to look after us. A local lady who had seen us being born contacted Soi Dog as she knew we wouldn’t survive without our mother. By then it had been 2-3 days since she had last seen our mother with us. After we were checked by the vets at the shelter, we were sent to the home of a lady called Khun Mia. She cuddled us and told us she would be our new...

Adoption Fallen Through. Does Nobody Love Me?
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

My name is Paulette and I was found last year on the island of Koh Phi Phi, here in Thailand, by some concerned tourists. I had an open wound and fractured left front leg and I was limping around looking for food. My wound was starting to get infected so I am glad they helped me. I was taken to a vet on Phuket island as Phi Phi does not have a vet and then I was brought to Soi Dog. I was really looking forward to going to my new home in Europe but I have just found out they do not want me. T...

Click Here To Rescue A Suffering Dog Today
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am Boomer, a boy of about 8 years of age. Up until recently, my life was a hard one, lived alone on the streets. I was suffering so much. For as long as I can remember, I have had horrible skin problems that made me feel ugly and sad. More than that, they made me so uncomfortable and I was itching and miserable all the time. One day, a man approached me and picked me up. I was scared at first; who was this man and what was he going to do to me? The man put me in a truck and took me to Soi Do...

Soi Dog Foundation - Sponsor A Dog Today
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Domonic came to the shelter from Wat Ban Don in a sorry state. He was hairless with serious thyroid problems. Some people may have considered him an ugly dog, but he keeps growing a little bit more hair all the time and the volunteers think he is handsome and has a wonderful nature. The staff have to rub sunscreen on him as his skin tends to burn and this is important as he likes to spend his days sunbathing. He has now been living at Soi Dog for 7 years and has his own patch around the staff ...

30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Want to help the orphaned, neglected and abused puppies of Thailand? You can do so by joining Shiver’s Puppy Care Club. Soi Dog picks up many young puppies every week. Most have been abandoned on roadsides or dumped and left to die. Unfortunately only the lucky ones are found and given a second chance. Sadly these very young puppies have often been separated from their mothers and have very little resistance to disease. Due to the vulnerability of tiny puppies, sadly some do not survive. You...

HANG A POSTER AND SAVE LIVES!
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

ONE POSTER SAVED THE LIVES OF 22 DOGS. WE WANT ONE THOUSAND. People often write to us, frustrated that they cannot take direct action to end the illegal dog meat trade. WELL, NOW YOU CAN. Soi Dog has already erected over 1,000 posters targeting dog traffickers, and raising public awareness of the trade. The posters offer rewards to local people who can provide tip-offs that lead to the arrest of dog snatchers. Posters have been placed along major routes in north east Thailand, as well as at...

Click Here To Save Helpless Puppies Like Yumi And Emi
30th May 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am a 4 week old girl called Emi and this is my brother Yumi. We were found by a tourist couple walking on the beach, when they spotted my tiny figure curled up on top of a plastic bag. Inside the bag was my brother Yumi. We had been dumped on the beach and left to die. We were just one week old. The tourists took us back to where they were staying. They fed us and looked after us for two days, while they looked for someone who could help. That was how they found Soi Dog. When we came to the s...
