Soi Dog Foundation to hold first ever Puppy and Kitten Mobile Adoptions Event
On Saturday the 23rd of August, Soi Dog Foundation will be holding it’s first ever Puppy and Kitten Mobile Adoptions Event at Central Festival. Soi Dog plan to hold monthly adoption events around the island to reach out to more of the Phuket community especially to those who reside in the south of the island. With nearly 400 dogs and dozens of cats at the shelter all these animals desperately need loving homes.

The Asia Canine Protection Alliance (Soi Dog Foundation, Change For Animals Foundation, Animals Asia and Humane Society International) are pleased to report that a dog thief in Vietnam has been sentenced to a one-year jail term resulting from the government’s crackdown on the trade. Imagine having eight children and no food or shelter? Nobody would give us food and my puppies were becoming very hungry. Life on the streets was very hard. I tried my hardest to protect my puppies and luckily one of the catchers from Soi Dog Foundation found us and bought us to the shelter. At last we had food and shelter.
Some of my puppies have been lucky enough to be adopted. I am so happy for them. A mother only wants what is best for her children. I am however still waiting for my forever...

Planning a trip to Thailand and a visit to Soi Dog? Soi Dog welcomes visitors and our shelter is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to midday and again from 1.00pm to 5.00pm.
Guided tours happen 3 times a day: 9.30am, 11.00am and the last one at 1.30pm. Do ensure you arrive in advance of one of these times and you will be given a tour of our shelter and get to meet many of the animals in our care.

Recently, Soi Dog founder Gill Dalley was out with our Animal Rescue Officers catching dogs for sterilisation. They were accompanied by a camera man, filming a short programme for the BBC.
Very high up in the jungle, they came across a Thai lady feeding stray dogs. Animal Rescue Officer Sanae stopped to talk to her as she is one of his contacts who reports dogs and cats in need of sterilisation, or those who require medical treatment.
