SUFFERING FROM SERIOUS INFECTION AND CANCER, MY LIFE WAS SO FULL OF PAIN… BUT WITH NO OWNER TO HELP ME, THINGS DID NOT LOOK GOOD… I was wandering the streets in crippling pain when a truck pulled up beside me and a man jumped out. I was petrified. Was this man going to hurt me? My name is Valentina and I am a street dog of about 6 years of age. The man who stopped placed his arms around me gently and lifted me into his truck. Stroking my head, he promised he would help me. His name was Kh...

ABANDONED WHILE SERIOUSLY ILL AND IN PAIN, BUT MY SITUATION WAS EVEN WORSE THAN YOU REALISE… I will never know what I did wrong… I had been sick for some time and was in agonising pain when my owner picked me up, put me in the car, then dumped me at a bus station and drove off. I was far, far away from home. I waited and waited for my owner to return but he never did. I lay down outside that bus station, scared about what would happen to me. It was bad enough to have this constant pain, ...

Imagine having eight children and no food or shelter? Nobody would give us food and my puppies were becoming very hungry. Life on the streets was very hard. I tried my hardest to protect my puppies and luckily one of the catchers from Soi Dog Foundation found us and bought us to the shelter. At last we had food and shelter. Some of my puppies have been lucky enough to be adopted. I am so happy for them. A mother only wants what is best for her children. I am however still waiting for my forever...

Hi my name is SOPHIE LEK - PLEASE ADOPT ME! Please email cristy@soidog.org for adoption enquiries. I am a medium sized girl nearly 4 years old and I came to the Soi Dog Phuket shelter when I was only a 3month old pup with my mother. We had been living in an area where we were not wanted, so people hit and kicked us to try and make us go away. This was very traumatic for both of us and it made me afraid of some people. I can sometimes be a shy girl and take my time to trust people but I am...

I am a survivor. My name is Goldy. I was meant to be eaten. Boiled and skinned alive first. But I am here. I was rescued by Soi Dog Foundation. I did not endure this painful ending which thousands of dogs already have. If you know anything about this illegal and brutal trade you will know that I was stolen and crammed into a metal cage with many other dogs – often many of us couldn’t breathe. We were in these conditions for days with no food or water. Many died but this death was much easi...

A Story Of Kindness And Love
8th Aug 2014, by Soi Dog Foundation

Recently, Soi Dog founder Gill Dalley was out with our Animal Rescue Officers catching dogs for sterilisation. They were accompanied by a camera man, filming a short programme for the BBC. Very high up in the jungle, they came across a Thai lady feeding stray dogs. Animal Rescue Officer Sanae stopped to talk to her as she is one of his contacts who reports dogs and cats in need of sterilisation, or those who require medical treatment. Here is a short video of what transpired, courtesy of Ross ...

Imagine not knowing what it’s like to be loved. Think about how you’d feel if you became seriously ill but you were all alone in the world and nobody cared what happened to you. I am a seven year old girl called Ingrid and this is my story. I grew up as a street dog. There was no owner to love me or take me to the vet when I developed a big tumour above my right eye and a seriously enlarged lymph node as well. I was scared and in pain and I had no idea what would happen to me. I was spo...
