Imagine having eight children and no food or shelter? Nobody would give us food and my puppies were becoming very hungry. Life on the streets was very hard. I tried my hardest to protect my puppies and luckily one of the catchers from Soi Dog Foundation found us and bought us to the shelter. At last we had food and shelter.

Since the governments of Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam met last year and agreed a moratorium on the movement of dogs between the four countries, there has been a dramatic decline in the numbers of dog meat trucks travelling from Thailand to Vietnam. Previously, these trucks had carried up to half a million dogs a year to their death.
