Soi Dog Foundation to hold first ever Puppy and Kitten Mobile Adoptions Event
On Saturday the 23rd of August, Soi Dog Foundation will be holding it’s first ever Puppy and Kitten Mobile Adoptions Event at Central Festival. Soi Dog plan to hold monthly adoption events around the island to reach out to more of the Phuket community especially to those who reside in the south of the island. With nearly 400 dogs and dozens of cats at the shelter all these animals desperately need loving homes.

Planning a trip to Thailand and a visit to Soi Dog? Soi Dog welcomes visitors and our shelter is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to midday and again from 1.00pm to 5.00pm.
Guided tours happen 3 times a day: 9.30am, 11.00am and the last one at 1.30pm.
Do ensure you arrive in advance of one of these times and you will be given a tour of our shelter and get to meet many of the animals in our care.

I have lived nearly all my life at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket and even though I am fed everyday and sometimes get walked by the nice volunteers, I do wish I had my own home. Hogi is one of the many dogs at the shelter suffer from recurring skin infections, requiring constant medication. Hogi is a sweet dog living in Soi Dog's old age area.
Animal Rescue Officer Khun Nok found her on the streets several years ago, totally bald.
Hogi, while a very happy dog, suffers from severe skin problems and requires very regular and very expensive skin treatment. She is in considerably better shape than when first found.

I am an old boy, just over 12 years of age now. I was brought to Soi Dog after my old age finally caught up with me. My name is Whopper.
When I was examined by the vets here at the shelter, they saw that I had several health issues. I was having problems with one of my legs and extreme difficulty walking. This was the result of a very old injury.

Se Kam, pictured below, is just one of them. She was dumped on the street when she was no longer wanted. A tough situation for any cat, but Se Kam had an extra challenge – she is blind.
Thanks to the Soi Dog supporters who have joined our Care for Cats Club, Se Kam was rescued and taken to our shelter. She has since been adopted and finally has her forever home.
