They call me Alivia. I have never had a name before.
I have lived on the streets for over 9 years and was brought to Soi Dog when my old age finally caught up with me.
I guess I should have known better, but I am not as quick as I used to be. When I wandered into the road, I didn’t have time to get out of the way before the speeding car hit me.

Indi Good News Story.

Jolt came to the shelter in November 2013 after it was suspected that she had been hit by a car. She was skinny, unable to walk and suffering from blood parasites.
Fast forward 11 months and Jolt is living the dream in the UK after she was adopted by Angie and her family. She is now called Indi and looks so fit and healthy. We are so happy that Indi has found her forever home and we are eternally grateful for Angie for adopting Indi.

Soi Dog treats and sterilises over 1,000 dogs and cats each month. In 2013, we sterilised more than 13,000 animals and are on track to sterilise 20,000 this year.
Each sterilisation costs us approximately US$20, meaning Soi Dog will spend $400,000 this year.
Many of the dogs and cats we pick up also require lifesaving, emergency treatment. The average cost of treating the cases we see is US$30 per animal, or approximately US$40,000 a year.

Every day was the same. At the age of just 5 months, I was waiting to die. I lay by the side of the road, too exhausted to move. I didn’t have the energy to find food, I was overcome with suffering. My name is Nippy.
I would cry out occasionally, but nobody heard me. The itching would go on and on, there was no relief. I scratched constantly, opening up sores that were trying to heal over and creating yet more at the same time. My story is one of misery and pain.

Planning a trip to Thailand and a visit to Soi Dog? Soi Dog welcomes visitors and our shelter is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to midday and again from 1.00pm to 3.30pm.
Guided tours happen 3 times a day: 9.30am, 11.00am and the last one at 1.30pm. Do ensure you arrive in advance of one of these times and you will be given a tour of our shelter and get to meet many of the animals in our care.

The speeding car came out of nowhere. I am only a little boy of 4 months; I didn’t stand a chance. It was my first life lesson as a stray dog of Thailand and I will never forget the pain.
