I am a 3 year old girl; my name is Papu. I am a stray dog from the island of Phuket in Thailand and I would like to tell you my story.
I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter having been hit by a car. There are many kind humans in my community who feed me every day, and one of them found me. I had horrific wounds on both of my back legs and the pain was agonising. He ran to call Soi Dog.

Thailand’s National Legislative Assembly (NLA) has passed the first ever Animal Welfare Bill in the country, designed to punish people who abuse or neglect animals.
While welcoming the new animal welfare law in Thailand, Soi Dog Foundation has concerns as to how effective it will be in its present form. Certainly the law will not stop the dog meat trade, just as laws on drug trafficking have not stopped that or other already illegal trades such as timber and wildlife smuggling.

Life has not always been easy for me. As a stray dog of Thailand, there was nobody to take me to a vet when I became ill or hurt myself. My name is Anshu.
