To celebrate the commencement of the construction of the new hospital, a traditional Buddhist ceremony was held to ensure the project is a success.
The photo below shows Soi Dog co-founder Gill Dalley pouring concrete into the foundations, with John Dalley and volunteer construction manager Paul ensuring that she doesn’t follow her bucket of concrete!

Porthos arrived at the Soi Dog shelter, Phuket, Thailand in January 2014 with her mum. Porthos’ mum was having a very difficult labour which sadly she didn’t survive from. Porthos and Athos did survive, thanks to the speedy work of a local vet.
Porthos and Athos were hand fed every 2 hours by staff here at the shelter.
