I was only a puppy when I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter over 4½ years ago. I had a severe case of mange, which had made all my fur fall out and my skin really itchy.
With treatment, I recovered quickly, but I am an extremely shy dog. If someone gives me their time and patience, I eventually come round and enjoy having cuddles, but it does take a long time to earn my trust.

Tassa Is One Of The Most Heart-Breaking Cases We Have Ever Encountered…
A Thai lady found Tassa in a horrifically emaciated state, running around the beach. She tried to get close but Tassa took off in terror. When the lady called us, Animal Rescue Officer Khun Nok was dispatched to the scene. Tassa was so frightened she needed to be darted in order to be caught.

My name is Bella and I am 3 years old.
I couldn’t even breathe properly there were so many of us in one cage. I am sorry to say but a dog died in my cage – she just gave up the will to live and stopped breathing. I tried my best to be brave, I really did. I am very grateful to the kind people who stopped our truck with all the cages filled with dogs and let us out. Save Stray Dogs From A Lifetime Of Suffering

Soi Dog spays and neuters and provides medical treatment to over 1,000 dogs and cats each month.
Many of these animals require lifesaving, emergency treatment.
Without regular donations from kind-hearted Soi Dog supporters, none of them could be helped.
We call these supporters our Emergency Response Team.
You may not be in Thailand, but you can still save critically injured dogs and cats by becoming a member of Soi Dog's Emergency Response Team.

Chara was hit by a car at just 5 months of age. She arrived at our shelter in horrendous agony and was unable to stand or walk on her hind legs.

Planning a trip to Phuket, Thailand and a visit to Soi Dog? Soi Dog welcomes visitors and our shelter is open Monday to Friday, 9.00am to midday and again from 1.00pm to 3.30pm.
Please note we are closed to visitors on Saturdays and Sundays.
Guided tours happen 3 times a day, Monday to Friday: 9.30am, 11.00am and the last one at 1.30pm. Do ensure you arrive in advance of one of these times and you will be given a tour of our shelter and get to meet many of the animals in our care.
