Justice came to Soi Dog after being found as a small puppy, dumped all alone on the bridge that connects the island of Phuket to the rest of Thailand.
Co-founder John Dalley received a call one afternoon to say Justice had been spotted on this bridge. Cars were whizzing past him and he was cowering in fear. A common dumping ground for unwanted dogs, Justice was one of the lucky ones in that he didn’t lose his life by being hit by a car.

MAN FINED FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY AFTER POISONING DOG
On the 4th July, 2015, a young man was charged and fined for poisoning a dog who he claims was killing his chickens.
This arrest came as a result of a citizen making a report after seeing a post on Facebook and reported it to police. Watch Dog Thailand, Soi Dog’s undercover unit, worked with local police to investigate and this man was charged with animal cruelty without reasonable cause.

Rinko arrived at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket, Thailand after she was found with an x-shaped wound on both her back paws. The cuts were so deep her nerves and tendons had been severed. This meant she was unable to control her paws so they were constantly pointing backwards. She was also very skinny and depressed.
The vets at Soi Dog cleaned her wounds and bandaged her feet daily to keep her paws in the correct position. Rinko took all her treatment in her stride.

Sweet Ton came to the Soi Dog in late 2013 in a very sad state. He had once been a pet, but was dumped on the street by his callous owners and someone took a machete to him and chopped off his tail.
By the time Ton arrived at the shelter, his tail bone was exposed and his wounds infested with maggots.

LONE SURVIVING DOG RESCUED FROM SHIPMENT BOUND FOR LAOS
Underneath the bodies of his dead friends, a lone dog was found by Watchdog Thailand and the local authorities, in the back of a cart destined to be barbecued.
