Sunset was just a young puppy when she arrived at our shelter, having been dumped by a busy road. She was in good health but, at such a young age, would never have survived the dangers around her. Lucky Sunset spent just 8 months at our shelter before being adopted by Jeannie and Martin in Vancouver, Canada. She has been re-named Sunny and has just celebrated her first birthday! Here's Sunny after "opening" her birthday card. Thank you Jeannie and Martin for giving a deserving girl such a grea...

PLEASE SPONSOR A DOG IN NEED LIKE SLEEPY
19th Oct 2015, by Soi Dog Foundation

I am Sleepy. Will you please SPONSOR me? I was only a puppy when I arrived at the Soi Dog shelter with a severe case of mange, which had made all my fur fall out and my skin really itchy. With treatment, I recovered quickly, but I am an extremely shy dog. If someone gives me their time and patience, I eventually come round and enjoy having cuddles, but it does take a long time to earn my trust. To help all the dogs like me that cannot be adopted right now, October has been designated Sponsor...

YOU ARE ALL SHE HAS. CLICK HERE TO HELP.
19th Oct 2015, by Soi Dog Foundation

WHEN WE MET HER, SHE COULDN’T EVEN STAND UP We were shocked when we met Lilandra. Just over a year old, her shrunken body was being ravaged by one of the worst cases of mange we have ever seen. She was so weak she couldn’t stand up. Bald patches covered her emaciated body and face. The light in her eyes had simply gone out. Lilandra was also battling severe anaemia and bloody diarrhoea. We feared that this suffering girl was not going to make it, but we were determined to give her a fight...

A very special thank you goes to Carol in England, who got in touch to say she wanted to give Mack a forever home. In May of this year, he left us to join his new family. Here's Mack now on English soil, about to go for a c...

WHAT A BAD START IN LIFE I HAVE HAD I wish I could tell you what happened to my leg, but I am only a 6 month old kitten. I am a boy called Naret. A kind lady turned up one day to open her restaurant business and found me lying in the doorway. One of my back legs was badly broken and a terrible infection had set in. I was whimpering in agony. The lady scooped me up and brought me inside to try to help me. Shortly after, a customer walked in for some lunch. He was an ambulance driver on his bre...

Life on the streets had not been kind. Will you please show you care by becoming my SPONSOR? I was very scared when I arrived – nobody had ever been kind to me before and I didn’t understand that the vets wanted to help me. Although I have recovered well from my physical problems, I am still very wary of humans. I am sa...

After being attacked with a machete, Chang was left with horrendous wounds, the worst of which ran the length of his face. This brutal attack happened in an area of Thailand called Pattaya, about 600 miles from where we are located on the island of Phuket. He was rescued by local animal welfare group Pattaya Animal Coalition, who supplied the photo on the left, below. Following emergency treatment in Pattaya, Chang was transferred to the care of Soi Dog, where vet Dr. Ob stitched up his wou...

END THE SUFFERING FOR DOGS LIKE BETTINA
17th Oct 2015, by Soi Dog Foundation

TWO YEARS OF AGE BUT FEELING OLD BEYOND MY YEARS I was brought to the Soi Dog shelter by a lady named Khun Ga. Having grown up on the streets, like so many others, I have never had a home or someone to love me. Here at the shelter, they call me Bettina. It feels good to have a name. Khun Ga is a kind animal lover who feeds the stray dogs in her community. She had never seen me before but one day, there I was - alone on a street corner. I had a severely infected wound on my shoulder and was str...

NOBODY STOPPED TO HELP HIM. WILL YOU?
16th Oct 2015, by Soi Dog Foundation

NOBODY STOPPED TO HELP ME. WILL YOU? So many must have seen me and walked on by. I am over 10 years of age and have lived my life on the streets of Thailand, each day a battle to survive. My name is Decan. I have been suffering for some time. A painful tumour had taken over my face and an untreated wound on my paw had become seriously infected. Struggling to eat, I became weak and emaciated. Life was proving too much of a challenge. Everything came to a head the day I was hit by a car and le...

His life had barely begun but as a street dog of Thailand, he was already suffering - destroyed by a horrendous case of mange. Thanks to YOU, we were able to take him in, provide him with the medical treatment he desperately needed, and keep him safe. Pok Pak spent just over 2 years at our shelter, until he was spotted by Julie in Canada, who got in touch to say she would a...
