I AM SCARED OF PEOPLE AND CANNOT BE ADOPTED RIGHT NOW. PLEASE SPONSOR ME! My name is Ferrero and as a young pup I found myself in a scary situation with my Mum and siblings. Some local people didn’t like us and said they were going to shoot us. We were all so frightened but luckily for us, Soi Dog picked us up and took us to the safety of the shelter. Sadly, I still remain scared of people to this day, which means I cannot be adopted right now. I have all I need here and I am loved but I...

Dreadlock arrived at our shelter over four years ago, suffering with horrendous skin conditions. His coat was filthy and totally matted, hence his name. He was a heartbreaking sight. Thanks to YOUR support, we were able to take Dreadlock in and care for him. He spent four years at our shelter, before being adopted by Susan in the UK, at the ripe old age of 10. Here's Dreadlock in his forever home, modelling his new winter wardrobe, all set for the change in temperature! Thank you Susan for lo...

When I was a puppy, I was abandoned with my 7 siblings in a parking lot outside one of Phuket’s most popular temples. My name is Pupa. We were not used to being handled by humans and we were all scared, but the people who found us knew that we were too young to survive on our own and brought us to Soi Dog. Some of my braver siblings have now been adopted, but I am very nervous and I live in the shy dog run here. Because of my fear, it may be some time before I can be adopted and this is whe...

Naowarat is 10 years of age. Her life has been spent on the streets, fending for herself. She has never known any other alternative – certainly never had a warm bed or a gentle touch from a loving human. She is no different to millions of street dogs in Thailand – until now. Naowarat is now at our shelter. She is emaciated and weak, battling problems with her eyes and her kidneys, struggling with anaemia and dehydration. She has already known a lifetime of suffering – and there is now onl...

I am a survivor of the illegal dog meat trade. My name is Cumin. I am looking for my forever home and a kind supporter has donated for some of my travel costs. Please EMAIL cristy@soidog.org if you can ADOPT me. They snatched me from the street. They crushed me into a metal cage with many other dogs. They hurled hundreds of these cages, all filled with petrified dogs, on to a big truck. We drove in the dead of night towards the border. Where were these people taking me? I could hear the young...

I WAS BLEEDING NON-STOP WHEN THEY FOUND ME I am about 3 years of age, a street dog who has never had anyone to love him. They call me Lord. I was found wandering the streets, bleeding profusely. There was nobody to help me. The blood flowed from my nostrils in what seemed an unstoppable stream. An Animal Rescue Officer from Soi Dog scooped me up and raced me to the shelter. The vets have examined me and found that I have something called extremely low platelets. This means my blood will not c...

Sadly, I am not at all trusting of humans and cannot be adopted because of this. I really still ...

YOU ARE MY LAST CHANCE. WILL YOU HELP ME? I am 12 years of age. I was born on the streets of Thailand, where I have spent my whole life. I am frighteningly skinny right now – emaciated, the vets say. You can easily count my ribs. I am dehydrated and weak, struggling to even stand up at times. A large tumour-like mass is taking over the left side...

Matada was found by a kind woman who feeds the street dogs in her neighbourhood. He was weak and emaciated, struggling with a severe case of mange that has caused him to lose almost all of his fur. He is only 4 years old. Matada is a symbol of thousands of Thailand’s street dogs, and their desperate need for a dedicated hospital, where conditions such as his can be treated. He is one of several dogs who had to wait patiently in our tiny clinic that day, while our vets struggled with limited s...

DESTINED FOR A VIETNAMESE DINNER PLATE - LOOK AT HIM NOW! Barnie was moments away from unimaginable torture and slaughter when he was rescued. Snatched from the streets of northern Thailand, he was bound for a Vietnamese dog meat restaurant. Thanks to the support of people like YOU, we were able to ...
