By the time she was 6 months old, Karina had already experienced more suffering than any animal should have to endure in its lifetime. The first picture below is our boy Zepellin on arrival at the Soi Dog shelter over three years ago. In a barbaric act of cruelty, somebody had tied a rubber band so tightly around his scrotum that it had caused a life-threatening infection.
Thanks to people like you, our vets were able to save his life, and he then went on to live in safety at our shelter for nearly three years, until he struck gold and was adopted by Tonja in Ontario, Canada!

DUMPED IN THE STREET WHEN I WAS NO LONGER WANTED
I watched my owner’s car drive away and then I sat patiently by the side of the road, waiting for him to return. It was a long wait, but I loved him. He would come back. YOU HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE
Who knows who wrapped the elastic band tightly around my nose and mouth and how long it had been there when I was found? The band cut deeply into my lip, causing it to split in two. The resulting wound became severely infected and my life was in serious danger when found by the kind person who alerted Soi Dog. At the shelter, they have named me New Star.
