How many days does it take to vaccinate 378 dogs? Just one! On Tuesday, Soi Dog Foundation and the Department of Livestock Development (DLD) gave vaccines and tick control treatment to 378 dogs at the Phuket Stray Dog Shelter. Buriram To Phuket: DMT Rescues On The Move!

On January 19th, 60 dogs rescued from the Asian dog meat trade were transported from a Soi Dog-funded shelter in Buriram, Thailand to our shelter on the island of Phuket in southern Thailand. All of the dogs have been adopted to our partner rescues in the USA and Canada. They will spend a minimum of four weeks in Phuket completing the health check and socialisation process. Last week, Soi Dog Foundation held a mobile spay/neuter clinic in Bangkok's Khum Thong subdistrict. About 640,000 dogs live on the streets of Bangkok—it's the largest stray dog population in all of Thailand. Soi Dog plans to eventually have 10 mobile spay/neuter units operating across the Bangkok metropolitan area, sterilising 100,000 dogs a year. It is estimated that the project will take 7 years to complete.
