My name is Genius, and I was found wandering the streets of Thailand with an injured back leg. The vets fought very hard to save the leg, but a life-threatening infection had set in and I had to have it removed.

A few days ago, these 5 precious puppies were facing death threats. Their mother – only 2 years old – was a feral dog living in the jungle. Two weeks ago, government officials rounded up 245 stray dogs in the southern province of Had Yai and nearby island Ko Yo. Their plan? To bring them to a government shelter over 1,300 km away in northeastern Thailand.

John Dalley and the late Gill Dalley, co-founders of Soi Dog Foundation, have been honoured with the Extraordinary Commitment and Achievement Award in Animal Protection. The Award was given by Humane Society International at Animal Care Expo 2017 last week.
