Here's a happy update to brighten your day. Cariad came to Soi Dog in January after she was abandoned and people living nearby threatened to poison her. Life can be cruel for street dogs in Thailand. Consider the case of Khaonuan. This darling 2-year-old girl was being fed regularly by a community member. Then Khaonuan simply disappeared. A week later, she was back – with a red, raw stump where her left hind leg had been. Khaonuan was the victim of a cruel wire snare meant to capture wild pigs.

Meet Zadonin
Zadonin is about 4 years old and she has never had someone to love her. As a new member of the Soi Dog sponsor programme, Zadonin could really use your help. She was found seriously injured, lying by the roadside.

DOG BUTCHER SENTENCED IN THAILAND
In April, a dog butcher in north-eastern Thailand was arrested after he was found with the body of a dog he had just killed. Reportedly at least 2 other dogs had been slaughtered and their meat sold that day.

Introducing Tasmez
Tasmez is a new member of our sponsor programme. She came to the Soi Dog shelter along with a pack of 3 other dogs. They'd been trying to survive on their own, with no one feeding them or otherwise looking out for them. Tasmez is about 4 years old.

My name is Levin. I am an old boy who was found living on the streets with half my jaw missing, from some old untreated injury. Nobody will ever know what happened to me and sadly I cannot say. My head also has a slight tremor from some past trauma. Or it may be that I am a distemper survivor.
I was very lucky that thanks to people like you, Soi Dog could take me in and look after me. Despite my damaged jaw, I can eat and I do have a good appetite. I am safe here, but I am one of hundreds.

Blueberry, now called Boo, was adopted to Montana after a family visited the Soi Dog Foundation shelter and fell in love with her. Boo came to Soi Dog a year ago with such severe injuries that one of her hind legs needed to be amputated and one of her eyes needed to be removed. Boo travelled to her new home in May.
