Deprim had to fight the odds to become our 🌟Dog of the Week🌟 https://links.soidog.org/adopt-deprim Deprim was one of six puppies found behind a temple. Their mother had been fatally poisoned, leaving them to fend for themselves at just four weeks old. Fortunately, a kind lady found them and cared for them in her house until our rescue officers arrived. Without the comfort and support of their mother, Deprim and her siblings had quickly succumbed to illness. Sadly, despite the very be...

4th Jul 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Can you show Somoh some love? 🧡 After being abandoned at 12 years old, Somoh did the only thing she could think of – she looked for help. Feeling hopeful, she showed up at someone’s front door, but being quite the unexpected surprise, they understandably couldn’t keep her. Although they couldn’t offer her the home she was looking for, they did offer to help her find a safe place. Thankfully, they found it. By the time she arrived, Somo's hope had begun to fade and she was feeling...

3rd Jul 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Sunbella is shining in the USA!🇺🇸 Sunbella was rescued from a government pound by our community outreach team in April last year. She'd just given birth to a litter of seven. At the Soi Dog shelter, she was able to recover from the birth and safely nurse her puppies until they were weaned and found their forever homes. In January this year, she was chosen by BnR's Rock n' Rescue, one of our wonderful partner rescues in the USA. It was there that she finally found a forever home of her o...

Looking Back At 2010, The Start Of Something Pivot..
1st Jul 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Looking back at 2010, the start of something pivotal in Soi Dog history. With programmes to rescue, treat, neuter, vaccinate and shelter dogs and cats now firmly in place, Soi Dog continued on its path. In the wider sense of animal welfare in Asia, though, Gill and John dreamed bigger. They had come to learn about the horrors of the illegal dog meat trade in the northern and eastern borders of Thailand. Live dogs were being transported through Laos and into Vietnam by the truckload, ending u...

29th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Volunteering at Soi Dog is a special experience – but don’t just take our word for it! Hear from two former volunteers, Scarlett and Toby, who flew over from the UK to give their time at the Soi Dog shelter in Phuket, Thailand, last year: “My dad is a long-time supporter of Soi Dog and has often said it’s the place in the world where he feels happiest. (He’s now a trustee of Soi Dog UK.) So, my husband Toby and I wanted to find out what all the fuss was about! Since returning to L...

29th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Wishman is wishing for a home 🏠 https://www.soidog.org/adopt/wishman-3140 Wishman was brought to one of our mobile clinics in October last year. He was only six weeks old at the time. Being so small and weak, he wouldn’t have survived much longer out there by himself, so he was transferred to our shelter where he's remained under our care ever since. Wishman is a sweet, gentle, cautious boy who finds the world outside his enclosure overwhelming. It’s clear those early days on the stree...

Hello, My Name Is Prowler. One Of The First Things..
29th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

Hello, my name is Prowler. 🐾 One of the first things you might notice about me is that I only have three legs. But I like to think i'm still just as handsome and full of life. If i'm honest, being a tripod dog can have its challenging moments, but nothing compares to the struggles I faced as a homeless dog with no family or friends. Those days were tough, and i'm grateful that they are behind me. Now, i'm lucky enough to have a loving place to call home. But I must tell you, sponsorship p...

28th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

This week in the #SoiDog20Years timeline, we take a look back at 2010 🧡 Soi Dog’s rescue and spay/neuter programmes are excelling. By the end of the year, over 30,000 animals have been neutered and vaccinated in just seven years of operation. The long-term benefits of the programme are now being seen. The dog population is reducing. A by-product of fewer dogs on the streets, though, is a rise in the cat population. Soi Dog needed to address the needs of cats and so – again with kind su...

Quiet Quana is all grown up and ready for a home: https://links.soidog.org/adopt-quana 🌟Dog of the Week🌟 Quana arrived at the shelter last year when she was just three months old. A cracked tibia and a dislocated pelvis told us she’d likely been the victim of a road traffic accident. Seeing her in pain and struggling to walk, a well-meaning member of the public had given Quana paracetamol which had also damaged her liver. What a lot for a puppy to bear. But your support gave ...

27th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

After being abandoned on the streets at just a couple of months old, Wigbert and Yolori didn’t stand a chance. When our Emergency Response Team first arrived, there were two other puppies amongst the siblings. One was lying on a rubbish bag unable to move due to an injury. 😔 The finder who contacted us about these puppies said that they suspected the puppy had been hit by someone. 😥 Because they were unwanted in the area and had no one to feed them, the puppies had to rely on garbage ...

26th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

From rags to riches, this is Titumy's furrytailending story. Titumy was brought to the Soi Dog shelter in April last year along with her two siblings. Though just six months old, they were in dire condition, suffering from malnourishment and severe skin issues. The kind lady who found them suspected that they'd been abandoned as they were new to the area. Unwelcome there, she alerted us before they could come to any harm. With the right treatment, their skin improved, their coats grew back a...

24th Jun 2023, by Soi Dog Foundation

#SoiDog20Years continued 🧡 With permanent sheltering and treatment facilities now secured, Soi Dog’s rescue and spay/neuter efforts ramped up. Following the construction of eight large dog enclosures in 2008, further expansion took place at the shelter in 2009. Soi Dog’s CNVR (Catch, Neuter, Vaccinate, Return) programme was making real headway, but female dogs with new litters of puppies were still being discovered, and a safe place was needed for them. Friends of Soi Dog and an a...
