Mahatma Gandhi Once Said, The Greatness Of A Natio.. 6th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Mahatma Gandhi once said, “The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated,” and that “Life is as precious to us as it is for an animal.”
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, lockdowns are being extended and restrictions on global travel continue to tighten, and as we come together as collectives, providing a sense of emotional support and togetherness, let’s not forget our four-legged friends living as part of our communities.

We received a lovely update from Mantana’s adopters, the Beightons, as they continue to adapt together as a family amidst the Covid-19 quarantine life that has now become the norm.
Mantana was brought to Soi Dog in early 2017 at only eight weeks old. She had a fractured jaw and required surgery. 🌟Dog of the Week🌟 My shaggy fur, floppy ears and wiggly bum aren’t the only things that make me cute! My name is Cutie, and let’s face it, if you spend more than a few minutes with me, I will melt your heart.
I was found on the side of the road with a shocking injury to my tail that caused the bone to protrude. However, my friendly face and happy demeanour masked the pain I was in.
When the vets had a closer look at my wound, they saw it was badly infected and infested with maggots....

Do You Remember Batua The Beagle? This Might Sound.. 6th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Do you remember Batua the beagle? This might sound like the title of a cheerful cartoon or a children’s book, but the start of this young boy’s story does not make for light reading.
Batua was barely out of puppyhood when he was dumped at a temple late last year. His ribs and hip bones were protruding from starvation. His tricolour fur was crawling with ticks. And his vision was becoming increasingly impaired by his inflamed third eyelids. Fortunately, a concerned monk alerted us to his sho...

Please Don't Let Dogs Like Asranya Spend The Rest Of Their Days In A Shelter. 5th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Asranya started life as an abandoned puppy, and sadly this is often the case for many street animals. She was rescued and brought to our shelter in 2017, quivering and scared of the unfamiliar environment. But eventually she relaxed and knew that she was finally going to be taken care of at Soi Dog.
As time passed, Asranya missed her chance to live out her puppyhood years in a home. She missed out on having a family to watch her grow up, and missed out on experiencing the love that comes with...

This is Rudd who came to Soi Dog Foundation, when she was found with a big necrotic wound on her tail that was deep and filled with maggots. The only way to save Rudd's life at that point was to amputate her tail. She also lacked vision on her left eye, and the vets decided to remove that eye, in order to ensure a good quality of life without pain or any discomfort.

How Can You Resist A Sweet Girl Like Whitelusy? 4th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Oh hi there! I just got back from my daily gentle stroll around the lake. It takes me a while to do a full lap as someone stops me every few metres for a cuddle or to stroke my tricolour fur. I’m Whitelusy, and I guess I’m just irresistible!
When I arrived at Soi Dog, I had a dislocated hip and was struggling to walk. It was an injury from an attack by someone who didn’t appreciate hearing the sound of my friendly woofs and whines in their area. Thanks to surgery and physio, I’m back on...

Take Action Now And Sign The Letter Urging Vietnam.. 3rd Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Adversity comes with instruction in its hand, and the authorities in Shenzhen, China, have taken that instruction, being the first municipality in China to officially ban the slaughter and sale of cats, dogs and wildlife for meat.

And, although it may have taken something as extreme as the coronavirus pandemic to prompt this latest move, it offers hope that other cities, provinces and countries will follow suit.
While we all come to terms wit...
