Click Here To Read Konunion's Story. 13th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Konunion is definitely our resident rock star, with his Kiss-style eye makeup. Like every rock star, he’s had his highs and lows. In August 2019, Konunion and his sister, only a few months old, were hit by car. The impact wounded his sister and fractured his front left leg in two places.
At Soi Dog, the vets fitted his leg with a plate and screws, but sadly, he was still in pain and struggling to walk, so they had no option but to amputate. You might notice that he stands flat on his right fr...

Last Month, Amidst The Partial Lockdown In Thailan.. 13th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Last month, amidst the partial lockdown in Thailand, Soi Dog’s Animal Rescue Officers based in Bangkok were fortunately able to travel to four suburban areas to rescue a family of shy dogs including puppies.
Keeping in line with social distancing, our Bangkok team found the feral dogs hiding in bushes, under abandoned buildings, and at landfill sites scavenging for food, away from populated areas. Once caught, they were transported to our clinic where they received vaccinations before neuter...

When Potzi Arrived At Our Shelter, She Was The Abs.. 13th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
When Potzi arrived at our shelter, she was the absolute picture of neglect. This nine-year-old girl once had an owner, but when they moved house, she was cruelly left behind.
In the two years that followed, Potzi languished on the streets. Her fur grew long and tangled. Arthritis developed in her spine. And untreated cataracts caused partial blindness. As a domestic dog with no experience of fending for herself, it’s extraordinary that she survived on the streets for so long. We were finally...

In light of International Nurses Day, which falls on May 12, Soi Dog would like to take this opportunity to honour the tireless efforts and dedication of the nurses working on the frontlines, risking their lives every day to help Covid-19 infected patients during this global pandemic. Nurses deserve support and recognition every day, but especially so in the face of this crisis.
Soi Dog’s very own ‘orange scrubs heroes’ are equally deserving of acknowledgement and gratitude. Here at the ...

We Are Excited To Share The Story Of Molly Now Kno.. 12th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
We are excited to share the story of Molly now known as Beckett who found her forever home in the USA, thanks to our Partner Rescue The Barking-Lot in San Diego, California.
Molly, was just one of the thousands of dogs who were rounded up in the northeastern part of Thailand in Nakhom Phanom area as a reactive response to an exaggerated Rabies scare.
With over 3,000 dogs in this makeshift government facility that housed both healthy and sick dogs, the appalling facilities were unable to cope w...

Dog Of The Week Hello There. My Name Is Gettah, An.. 11th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
🌟Dog of the Week🌟 Hello there. My name is Gettah, and I’m coming to you from Oregon, USA. You’re probably wondering how I got here all the way from Phuket, Thailand. https://links.soidog.org/Enquire-about-Gettah
I was brought to Soi Dog in February 2018 after I was found on the streets with severe eye problems. I couldn’t see and was in terrible pain. The vets decided it was best to remove my eyes to relieve me from the discomfort I was feeling. As you can imagine, adjusting to lif...

Warning Graphic Images. Who Could Forget Our Sweet.. 11th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
**WARNING: GRAPHIC IMAGES
Who could forget our sweet Sitthichai? This poor boy was found at a fish market with a missing paw and a horrific open fracture to what remained of his leg. Infection had set in, and he was barely able to walk.
We could see in Sitthichai’s eyes how much he had suffered during his seven years on the streets. But we’re pleased to tell you that, all thanks to support from people like you, he is now free from pain and suffering and has been given a clean bill of healt...

Life Of A Vet Midst Covid-19 Lock Downs. 10th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
A few weeks ago, when Phuket island went into lockdown to contain the spread of COVID-19, some of our staff were not able to come into work.
Some were lucky enough to have worked remotely to keep the ship sailing, but, for staff like Dr.Kik, one of our shelter vets, this was not an option.
Drastic times, call for actions that are unique to the times which is why a few of our staff including some of the vets, decided to “camp” at the shelter to make sure we could function as normal and the ...

Love Me, Feed Me, Never Leave Me! 10th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
🌟Cat of the week🌟 Hi there. Jomjam here, Soi Dog’s very own Garfield. The similarities don’t end at our fuzzy orange tabby fur. Just like the comic book kitty, I love nothing more than lounging, lazing, snoozing and snacking!
Sadly, unlike Garfield, I wasn’t born in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant with a silver spoon of lasagne in my mouth. Instead, I was born on the mean streets of Thailand. Soi Dog came to my rescue in January 2019 after I was hit by a car and left with a dee...

Homeless Puppies Like Zoran Need You Now More Than Ever. 10th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
From the frightening streets of Phuket to a home full of love – donations from kind people like you truly do enable happy endings to happen. Little Zoran was found abandoned on a construction site and had a wound that had been invaded by maggots. At only one week old, such an injury can quickly become life-threatening for tiny puppies like him. If he hadn’t been rescued, it is unlikely he would still be alive today.
Fortunately, caring people like you donated and gave precious Zoran a figh...

Thanks to people like you, the vets at Soi Dog were able to help me and after surgery and physiotherapy, I made a good recovery. I am safe here at the shelter, but I can be a little bit wary of humans I don’...

Do You Have A Vacancy For A New Best Friend? Tingly's The Dog For The Job! 9th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
🌟Dog of the Week🌟
Hello there! I am a handsome old boy who has been living at Soi Dog Foundation’s shelter in Phuket, Thailand since January 2017.
A kind local lady found me wandering the streets in the south of the island. She knew something was very wrong with me, and so she contacted Soi Dog for help. Nobody knows for sure, but the vets think I was bitten by a snake! Thanks to people like you, they were able to nurse me back to health, and now I’m ready to find my forever home.

Cintas Story Is A Truly Sad One. This Beautiful Ca.. 9th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Cinta’s story is a truly sad one. This beautiful cat arrived at Soi Dog in February. She was in a terrible state after an incredibly unkind person put a tight elastic band around her fragile body. Over time, the band cut deeply into her tender flesh and she was clearly in agonising pain. On top of this, Cinta was also battling a bad case of cat flu and suspected pneumonia.
Fortunately, Cinta received the treatment and care she needed at Soi Dog and is slowly recovering from her cruel past. ...

Sponsor A Shelter Cat. 8th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Beneath the rough, tough, one-eyed exterior lies a true marshmallow of a cat. Now that he's been rescued from the streets, Vados has turned into a big softie when it comes to cuddles. And that's just fine, because no cat deserves to suffer the way Vados did before. He has earned the right to be spoiled, at least a little. Read his story here: https://links.soidog.org/Sponsor-Vados-help-more-l ike-him

Soi Dog's Furry Tail Endings 8th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Vespa wears his name well, stylish and timeless like the Italian scooter. But unlike his sophisticated name, Vespa had a rough start in life as a street dog.
He arrived Soi Dog Foundation in 2016 with a swollen and infected right eye which left him visually impaired. With intense care and medical treatment, Vespa pulled through. In 2019, Vespa was picked up by one of our Partner Rescue in Canada, Paws Above and soon after was adopted by a lovely lady named Diane. She recently sent us a heart-w...

Help Special Needs Dogs Like Tarnsuay Today! 8th May 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
We always knew Tarnsuay was a toughie. This sweet girl came to us back in January with a host of medical issues, but with her cheerful attitude and a spirit much younger than her eight years, it was clear she wasn’t going to give up easily.
Tarnsuay’s left legs were badly injured in a road traffic accident. Sadly, that wasn’t all she had to worry about. She was also infested with ticks, tested positive for heartworm and had a live maggot wound on her back, as well as a dislocated hip. Sh...
