It Can Be A Long And Winding Road To Recovery For .. 22nd Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
It can be a long and winding road to recovery for some desperate animals that come through our shelter doors.
Brave Khaojam who arrived at Soi Dog back in August 2019 had clearly endured great pain and cruelty. He had a badly swollen front leg that needed urgent medical attention. The skin was red raw from his elbow all the way down to his paw, and putting any weight on it caused him immense agony. From the deep wound on his elbow, our vets concluded that someone exceptionally unkind had tied...

As Soon As We Found Out A Lockdown Was Coming Into.. 21st Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
As soon as we found out a lockdown was coming into force, the Soi Dog team ordered and delivered a staggering 11 tonnes of food to our community network across Phuket. Because the lockdown prevents all but essential travel between different areas of the island, we were incredibly concerned homeless animals wouldn’t have enough food to last them through this period. We needed to keep one step ahead.
It was therefore essential that the team sprang into action to ensure that no homeless animals...

Heidi Is 🌟dog Of The Week🌟 And She Is A Stunner! 21st Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
People are often drawn in by my beautiful brindle coat, proud white chest and cute socks, but it’s my sweet and funny personality that really makes them fall in love. That’s the Heidi effect! In fact, a kind person was so taken with me recently that they put some money towards my journey to my furever home so I can get there as soon as possible.
Soi Dog Foundation found me in an overcrowded government shelter in northern Thailand in 2018. Following an exaggerated rabies scare, the Thai gov...

Give Rakyai The Chance To Shower You With All His Love! 19th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Don’t be fooled by my doggie eyeliner and elegant frame, I’m a boy alright! My name is Rakyai, and it’s no coincidence that this means “big love” because I will shower you in affection and fill your heart with love if you give me the chance.
I was just a puppy when Soi Dog found me. Terrified and too weak to stand, it was clear that life on the streets had already taken its toll on me. I’ve grown so much since then, both in size and in confidence, but I’m still a little on the shy...

1,254 days is how long our 🌟Cat of the Week🌟 has been here at Soi Dog Foundation.
Rafina was been an orphan and lived around people since she was about a month old, but it is not how we had hoped it would be. She still lives at Soi Dog Foundation, but in our cattery waiting for a family. Because that's what being around people really means: having your own home, your own bed and a person or a group of people who are your family.
Rafina is positive for Feline Immunodeficiency...

Help Stop This Vile Practce! 18th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Last month, Vietnam drafted a directive to ban the illegal trade and consumption of wildlife; a move we welcomed. However, we strongly urged the authorities to include companion animals in the directive as dog and cat meat stalls are all too common at the same wet markets that trade in exotic wildlife.
But the sad reality has now presented itself – sales of dog and cat meat have risen in Vietnam. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/asia/coro navirus-dog-cat-meat-vietnam-cambodia-indonesi...

Won't You Consider Giving Lumix A Home Today? 17th Apr 2020, by Soi Dog Foundation
Lumix, our 🌟Dog of the Week🌟 is coming to you all the way from Texas, USA!
Lumix is of course originally from Thailand and he came to Soi Dog Foundation's shelter, with an injured leg. His leg couldn't be saved so it had to be amputated. Despite living a hard life as a street dog never knowing when the next meal was coming from and then losing a leg on top of it, you'd think poor Lumix would be a sad dog but, he wasn't.
He was always smiling and loved people and continues to thri...
