An example of what is happening in Bangkok right now. Khun Pawena and other rescuers today. Khun Pawena says "It took us 20 minutes to catch him, he was so frightened! We had to let him swim for a while to release all his energy. We used the log to keep him up from the water while we patiently waited for him to calm down. Finally he became so tired we could rescue him. We took the boat out and on the way saved another 11 Chi Hua Hua's, an elderly man and his two teenage daughters. Very tired." ...

THE STUNNING MAKORK!... This beauty queen is yet another dog that's spent almost her entire life at the Soi Dog shelter. She's approx 4 years old & has lived here for over 3 years. When you enter the run she shares with 16 other dogs, she can always be found hiding under the sala. She's frightened of the more boisterous dogs, so she prefers to stay out the way. Floods have become more widespread in many parts of Bangkok and residents in Don Muang, Bang Phlad and Thawi Wattana districts have been urged to evacuate to safety immediately. As a result the situation is worsening for the animals. Bangkok's governor also urged residents in Bang Phlad district to move their belongings to high ground and evacuate to nearby shelter centres as the flood situation in the district is now critical, with 70% of the district now under high levels of water. Wat Suan Geow, Thonburi is high priority as dogs are on tin roofs there now, burning during the day -- one fell off in a catch attempt and drowned. TREAT manager Tharinee is coordinating a new effort to these dogs Also SERIOUS supplies of dog food are needed in Kanchanaburi and Petburi and elsewhere where masses of dogs are sheltered but supplies must be delivered and come from abroad probably.
