During October 2011 Bangkok had one of the worst floods in history. Thousands of dogs are being rescued by Soi Dog Foundation and other organizations.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO MY WORLD?... The look on this dog's face says it all. He's never experienced anything like this & can't work out what's happened. This dog is safe, but stranded on a bridge deep in the flood zone with 100 other dogs. He's fed every day by volunteers who travel several hours to reach him.

SDF Partner Orgnisation - Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand in ACTION Sterilizing the Rescued Animals - Preventing More Suffering
With the dogs being brought to a central point, this is a great opportunity for the stray population to be spayed and neutered, the intention in many areas is to make sure all the dogs are de sexed before they are returned home once the floods have receded.

SOI DOG DESPERATELY NEEDS A TRUCK/PICK UP!!... We need to rescue more dogs from flood effected areas. The waters are still rising & more animals will need our help. Does anyone in the Bangkok area have a diesel truck or large "pick up" that they would be prepared to loan to us? We need this vehicle to transport small boats & dog food to badly effected areas. Please help us to save more lives!.. If you can provide such a vehicle please email cindy@soidog.org

BANG PU RESCUE SHELTER!...Rescue organizations are setting up a Dog Rescue Center at Ban Pu/Samut Prakon, 1 hour from the center of Bangkok to house dogs displaced by the floods. SCAD, Save Elephant Foundation & Soi Dog Foundation have joined forces to fund & build a 200 dog shelter on land donated by Thai Wantana Panich Press Company. The "Humane Society International" from India has a vet team vaccinating all animals & will spay/neuter them before they are returned, once the water has receded....

MEET LADY GAGA...THE LATEST ARRIVAL INTO SHIVER'S PUPPY CARE CLUB!!
Lady Gaga arrived at Soi Dog on Saturday. A lady found this little dog on the road in terrible pain. She has a bad case of mange which is very painful, but with proper treatment should gradually improve. Shiver's Puppy Care Club will support her while she's at Soi Dog & when recovered, we hope to find this little girl a new home. Lady Gaga is approx 4-6 months old.

PIMGHON WILL BREAK YOUR HEART... WILL YOU SPONSOR HIM? Pimghon was brought to Soi Dog by two kind Thai ladies (Pim & Ghon), so that's where his name comes from. He was living on their street & they were feeding him, but they could not care for him any longer so thankfully they brought him to Soi Dog. At some stage he's suffered a broken jaw & when he arrived it was all wired up. There was no need for the wires, so we removed them & he's now a lot more comfortable.
