FROM JOHN IN BANGKOK. Its 10 ;30 pm here and just got back to room for 30 minutes after working with one of our rescue teams before heading to airport to pick up 2 volunteer vets from Worldwide vets in States. They will have been traveling for more than 24 hours and after a few hours sleep will be heading down to the WFFT center. I cannot speak highly enough of our Thai volunteers. They are out first thing in the morning and continue to work well after dark before returning to soi 71, with the ...

So we really do need to say THANK YOU, as your support is making a difference in Thailand, for those of you who have donated you will also receive a email thank you, please note this and many other things are done by volunteers and not by automated responders like big organizations, so there may be a short delay whilst a human writes back to you :-...

Doobys Story 12th Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
PLEASE SPONSOR DOOBY
Doobys Story Dooby arrived at the shelter in a terrible state, poor love. He's got a dreadful fungal infection all over his hairless body & weeping sores. Just look at his sad face, he's been wandering the streets for many months in terrible pain & discomfort. Yet another example of the importance of Soi Dog's sponsorship program. If you are in a position to spare 66 cents (.50 Euro) a day please consider sponsoring Dooby or one of the many other dogs which we care for.

Humphreys Story 12th Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
PLEASE SPONSOR HUMPHREY
Humphrey's Story Humphrey was found by an Englishman working on a construction site. Humphrey had been savagely attacked and half his scalp had been sliced off. Humphrey was raced to the shelter where he underwent immediate emergency treatment. Today he is still frightened but he is gradually leaning to trust again which will be a long process, and of course he can never be returned to where he was found.

WHAT'S HAPPENED TO MY WORLD?... 12th Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
WHAT'S HAPPENED TO MY WORLD?... The look on this dog's face says it all. He's never experienced anything like this & can't work out what's happened. This dog is safe, but stranded on a bridge deep in the flood zone with 100 other dogs. He's fed every day by volunteers who travel several hours to reach him.

We are setting up a dog rescue center at Bang Pu/Samut Prakon 1 hour from the centre of Bangkok to house dogs displaced by the floods. SCAD, Save Elephant Foundation & Soi Dog Foundation have joined forces to fund & build a 200 dog shelter on land donated by Thai Wantana Panich Press Company. The "Humane Society International" from India has a vet team vaccinating all animals & will spay/neuter them before they are retuned, once the water has receeded. The shelter is being constructed with the h...

WHERE'S MY HOME GONE???... 12th Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
WHERE'S MY HOME GONE???... Another dog bemused & bewildered by the Bangkok floods. She used to live in a beautiful park & now it's just an ocean. The nearest dry land is several kms away. She & her friends now live on a bridge above the water line & volunteers come to feed these dogs every day. It may not seem like much of a life, but it's better than living in small cage in a rescue shelter. Wherever they can, volunteer organisations feed these dogs in their current location, unless they're in ...
