FLOOD RESCUE DOG "NODDY" - UP FOR ADOPTION!!!
Sweet little "Noddy" was rescued from Dog Island a few days ago, he was suffering from malnutrition, blood parasite disease & a chest infection. Noddy was immediately taken to a Bangkok vet clinic by Soi Dog where he's been treated & has quickly recovered. He's ready to leave & we desperately need to find him a new home.

BANGKOK FLOOD VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Volunteers to help at WFFT center Cha Am.
Transport, food and room provided. To work with dogs and also wanted anybody with construction maintenance skills to maintain temporary shelters and possibly construct additional.

I have just heard back from the Airline and they are unable to organise the transport of essential medication, due to massive work pressures. Plan B is now essential. Anyone in Australia flying to Phuket this week or next please get in touch with me. I will arrange the items to be posted.
I can supply a letter to cover you and arrange the items to get to you.
Please share this as I need to find people as soon as possible.

In answer to several questions The mass evacuation involved even more dogs than we thought as others had found small crops of exposed land. Some only a few feet across. Others swim from outcrop to outcrop. WFFT estimate around 250. We could not count them all when rescuing.
The old lady feeds them all going around in a boat. We know by the time night fell there were a handful we could not catch, but the old lady will continue to feed these. She has asked to visit her dogs in Cha Am next saturday...

Day 2 begins.... Soi Dog's truck arrives, along with over 150 cages to transport the dogs from the "Dog Island Bridge" by boat back to the main road, where awaiting trucks will take them to the WFFT Shelter in Cha Am. Over the past 2 Days, Soi Dog has co-ordinated & funded the mass evacuation of what's become known as "Dog Island". Here is a Great Way for people to Fundraise for Soi Dog Foundation and the ongoing Flood Relief Effort, by using Ebay Giving Works -
You can list things you no longer want, TV's, Furniture, Phones, Old Cars, Clothes, etc and donate the funds or a percentage to SDF. Great Way to get rid of things you no longer need or want and do good at the same time.

Rama is a survivor of the Bangkok Flood Disaster.
Soi Dog volunteers returning from a rescue mission to Dog Island happened to spot Rama in the traffic. She was terrified, dragging her back legs & seconds away from being killed by a passing car.

BANGKOK FLOODS ANIMAL RESCUE UPDATE - 21-NOV - 03:46 CEDT
After 2 twenty hour+ days the dogs at the temporary sanctuary known as Dog Island have been moved from Dog Island to the mid term shelter at Wildlife Friends of Thailand (WFFT) in Cha Am. The flood waters navigated were very deep contributing to the difficulties of moving 200+ dogs many of the wilder ones having to be caught with nets.

VERY long day as was yesterday when cages could not get through to us.
Today was hugely successful. The bridge and dog island is now empty!
All dogs removed and on way to WFFT shelter at Cha Am on large trucks paid for by your donations. Floods very deep here so getting there and back has made for extremely long days. Many thanks to all the Thai volunteers who helped with this. And the Thai army for deploying 10 troops to help and getting us back to Bangkok.

Puppies & Mom Rescued

This rescue took place in an area called Chaeng Wattana, a suburb just north of Bangkok. We entered a large flooded area with vegitation down one side which was in 1 meter (3+ feet) of water. On the edge of this area were floating reeds & rubbish with dogs running around on top of it, as we approached several puppies appeared. The puppies came to the boat and quickly climbed on board, We fed the puppies & they ate like they hadn't eaten for weeks.
