FLOOD RESCUE DOG "MINNIE" READY FOR ADOPTION! 24th Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
FLOOD RESCUE DOG "MINNIE" READY FOR ADOPTION!
They don't come any sweeter than little "Minnie". She was rescued from Dog Island & taken straight to a Bangkok vet clinic suffering from diarrhea, dehydration & blood parasite infection. She's still in the clinic, but expected to make a full recovery & be released shortly. We'd love to find Minnie the home of her dreams, rather than sending her back to Dog Island. She slept peacefully in volunteer's arms on the bumpy 3 hour truck ride back to Bangk...

Rama is a survivor of the Bangkok Flood Disaster. Soi Dog volunteers returning from a rescue mission happened to spot Rama in the traffic.
She was terrified, dragging her back legs & seconds away from being killed by a passing car. Soi Dog decided to fly Rama to Phuket as she's an old dog (approx 11 years old) who's had a very hard life. ...

FLOOD RESCUE DOG "PHUTTA" NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME! 23rd Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
FLOOD RESCUE DOG "PHUTTA" NOW LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME!
This little treasure was rescued from Dog Island on Saturday by Soi Dog. We had her admitted to a vet clinic immediately as she was very weak & showing signs of blood parasite infection. She's recovering well & can now leave the vet clinic, but we need to find her a loving home. We'd prefer not to send her back to dog island as we know she'd make a wonderful pet. She's very gentle & sweet & her big brown eyes will melt your heart, as they did...

Phuket of course goes on as normal. Just got phone call from lady that 3 lovely dogs we know well have been ordered to be killed by the residents committee ( all foreigners) of a resort and residential development called Club Lersuang in Bang Tao. Apparently they are discussing poisoning or shooting. We will get them out of course but definitely a place to cross off your possible holiday spot, along with Laguna Phuket in same area, the largest resort complex in Asia who pick up dogs and dump the...

PRIOR TO THE EVACUATION OF DOG ISLAND 22nd Nov 2011, by Soi Dog Foundation
PRIOR TO THE EVACUATION OF DOG ISLAND...
Soi Dog's John & Gill Dalley had to discuss the removal of the dogs from Dog Island with Colonel Bear of the Royal Thai Army. It was Soi Dog's decision but we needed the help of the army & their equipment to carry out the operation. Colonel Bear was very helpful & supplied 10 men 2 trucks & a boat. He also spoke to the local monks to make sure they understood what was happening & assure them their dogs will be returned when the water goes down.

FLOOD RESCUE DOG "NODDY" - UP FOR ADOPTION!!!
Sweet little "Noddy" was rescued from Dog Island a few days ago, he was suffering from malnutrition, blood parasite disease & a chest infection. Noddy was immediately taken to a Bangkok vet clinic by Soi Dog where he's been treated & has quickly recovered. He's ready to leave & we desperately need to find him a new home.
Our original video showed this little guy nodding off in Cindy's hand, so we've called him Noddy. He's a very placid, friendly...

In answer to several questions The mass evacuation involved even more dogs than we thought as others had found small crops of exposed land. Some only a few feet across. Others swim from outcrop to outcrop. WFFT estimate around 250. We could not count them all when rescuing.
The old lady feeds them all going around in a boat. We know by the time night fell there were a handful we could not catch, but the old lady will continue to feed these. She has asked to visit her dogs in Cha Am next saturday...

Everyone hops on 3 boats for the 20min boat ride into Puttaamonthon Buddhist Park. The dogs await our arrival & many of the friendliest ones seem to know what's happening.
