Poppy' Suddenly Went Off Her Food And Bloods Revea.. 16th Jan 2019, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
'Poppy' suddenly went off her food and bloods revealed an elevated liver enzyme. Our in-house workup couldn't identify the cause, we treated her supportively with intravenous fluids and anti nausea and she's booked in to see a medicine specialist to further investigate the cause of her ailment. Important to realise referral must always be offered to you especially if no definitive diagnosis was established and your pet is still unwell. We are very lucky to have so many amazing specialists to sup...

Seriously This Is My Most Triumphant Photograph Ev.. 7th Jan 2019, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Seriously this is my most triumphant photograph ever...all three looking...and yes that's a cat between two dogs...'Gem' (border collie puppy), 'Artemis' (grey and tabby cat) and 'Jazz' (Maltese Cross geriatric) are all good mates and it made for a very interesting consultation session. Gem and Artemis got clear bill of health and vaccination boosters. Jazz had a swollen paw that required surgical exploration under full anaesthetic and unfortunately no grass seed was found today. ๐๐๐ #f...

Today On My Way To Work, Saw Hit By Car Dead Walla.. 5th Jan 2019, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
Today on my way to work, saw hit by car dead Wallaby in suburban area. I stopped and confirmed it was a female Wallaby and pulled out up a live pinky from her pouch. Kept it snug as a bug. Weighed 25 grams and free of injury. Wildlife carers swung by to pick her up and give her a good go although she's very tiny. It's important to stop and always check. I just want to recognise the relentless amazing dedication our Aussie wildlife carers demonstrate 24/7 all year round. I hope this little crit...

Cleo' Is Very Talkative And Makes The Most Adorabl.. 4th Jan 2019, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
'Cleo' is very talkative and makes the most adorable vocalisations that sound like purring meows. It was so good to see him thriving after almost near death experience few years ago. He was unable to urinate and required repeat general anaesthesics to place urinary catheters. He was then referred to another vet for a perineal urethrostomy and he finally urinated and didn't require the surgery. He's super lucky to have not had any further issues as he is on a premium diet (royal canine urinary). ...

Kit' Stumbled Upon His New Home And Hopefully He W.. 22nd Dec 2018, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
'Kit' stumbled upon his new home and hopefully he will happily co-inhabit with the primary feline of the household. It's important to appropriately introduce a new cat to a home with a resident cat. It takes time and patience and lots of pheromone therapy. Unfortunately sometime it simply doesn't work out. Crossing my fingers it will work out for Kit. He is a cheeky cutie. ๐๐๐ #felinekitten #felinevaccination #vetcheck #introducingnewcat

Tess' Kelpie Came In For Her Regular Check-Up With.. 20th Dec 2018, by Dr Rayya's Online Veterinary Journal
'Tess' (kelpie) came in for her regular check-up with her brother 'Socrates' (Staffordshire Bull Terrier) to monitor her response to her new medication. She suffers from anal furunculosis, a very horrible painful condition tha leads to recurrent anal fistulas. She's a gorgeous girl and we finally found treats she can have that won't flare up her condition. It was a miraculous shot to get them both in focus. ๐๐๐ #caninevetcheck #canineanalfurunculosis #happydogs
