INJURED EAGLE NOW SAFE, "It's Going to Be OK Sweetheart"
The Harmony Fund recently donated a specialized bow net to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. This gift was not only a way to rescue wildlife in precarious circumstances, but also as a gesture of gratitude for the League's brave and devoted assistance in the rescue of a deer on an icy lake last year.
The bow net turned out to be the perfect tool for the rescue of an injured juvenile bald eagle a few days ago. With the assistance of a lo...

20 BUNNIES QUICKLY SEEK FOSTER "PARENTS" & SPONSORS (UK)
Well, it's raining bunnies at The Rabbit Residence Rescue in Royston Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. This English rescue center and retirement home for unadoptable bunnies is asking for help with an influx of rabbits who must leave a deeply neglectful situation by Tuesday. The back story is long and sordid, but the bunnies needs are quite simple really. They need to taste their first GOOD food in a very long time. They need veterinary care...

CAT BALANCES ON UTILITY POLE FOR 24+ HOURS,
WHILE HIS "MOM" PLEADS FOR SOMEONE TO HELP
Storm the cat is purring on the bed pillow again after a harrowing 24 hours or more on top of a utility pole.
Gabriel Sanwald of Washington told Pennisula Daily News that she called anyone she could think of to save her beloved cat, but no one would help. The utility company turned down her request, and because the pole belongs to them, firefighters and tree companies did not have permission to access it. ...

Last year, Warin Taphaothong was thrown to the ground by her brother-in-law Dom when she tried to protect her nephew from yet another beating. Enraged by her interference, Dom (who was a killer-for-hire) shot Warin in the chest. By some miracle the bullet veered away from Warin's heart and instead went clear th...

Rescuer Survives Gunshot: 200+ Dogs Counting On Our Donations 28th Apr 2014, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Still recovering from a gunshot blast to the chest, Warin Taphaothong would rather die than disappoint the dogs. On the heals of yet another surgery to address deep infection, Warin is back “at work”. Today she wears a gentle smile and a light polka dot apron as she climbs onto her motorbike with a dozen magnificently large pots of food for the strays. The wheels on the bike’s cart squeak and whistle under the weight of so much hot rice and chicken. Her sister Lem tries to stop the pots fr...

ANIMALS IN UKRAINE EATING UP YOUR DONATIONS
"Yesterday we brought food to the shelter from the money sent by Harmony Fund," Shelter Kiev SOS Founder Tamara Tarnawska said. "This will be enough to feed all the cats for a month. As for dog food, we bought a little and it will be feed only enough to feed old dogs."
"We have no money to buy dry food for 1,200 dogs and 255 cats and instead have to cook for them different porridge with meat. Embassies of America, Austria and Germany helped me to ma...

"IT's OK, I'VE GOT YOU NOW."
Paterson firefighters and New Jersey Search and Rescue worked together to save the life of this poodle mix trapped on a cliff at Garret Mountain Reservation. They sent two men down 100 feet to secure the dog in a harness and hoist him to safety.
John DeCando, Paterson's chief animal control officer, told reporters, "He's been out for a long time. He's all bones."
Well "he" turned out to be a "she" and has now been adopted. All cleaned up and given the name Easter,...

UPDATE: THE DOGS IN BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA ARE SAFE!
Yesterday was an incredibly busy day for the rescuers who rounded up the survivors of a peaceful group of street dogs who had been attacked by the trained fighting dogs of drug dealers. The strays had been doing their best on the street, and were receiving food and mange treatment by a group called Marianne's Food Bank https://www.facebook.com/groups/366871233352351/. But after the deliberate attacks four dogs were killed. Many of you made donat...

BEAR WITH HEAD STUCK IN A JAR IS FREE
A back bear spent part of Easter Sunday with his head stuck in a plastic jar. A call came into police in the early hours of the morning when a resident spotted the bear wandering around a street in Lively, which is a part of Greater Sudbury in Ontario Canada.
The poor bear even walked straight into the police cruiser as he tried to free himself. The Ministry of Natural Resources was called in and they tranquilized "Pooh" and cut the jar off his head. Thank...

BEFORE & AFTER: TINY NEVER KNEW A LAP COULD FEEL SO GOOD
These before & after photos were taken in Thailand where after three years of neglect, a very sweet little dog named Tiny is beginning a wonderful new life.
"I was feeding her this last month on the road, because she was so timid, I couldn't get close to her until a few days ago," said Marianne Willemse at Love Animal House who has rescued countless animals from extreme cruelty and hardship. "She was so fearful because no one had paid...

EMERGENCY: Protection for Dog Victims in Bosnia Herzegovina
Thugs in Sarajevo with purebred fighting dogs have set their dogs out to attack abandoned strays. At least four of the strays died yesterday from injuries caused by the attacks, others are missing or wounded. We are hoping to help the survivors.
“Already two months constantly we have been calling the police, but the patrol came only today when the streams of blood flowed down the street," one rescuer explains. "This is the worst da...

I'M NOT THE EASTER BUNNY
I may not be a legendary bunny, but I do know what it is to be treated like royalty. Though I can't deliver chocolates or colored eggs, I was welcomed into a home. Every morning, I enjoy a huge salad and throughout the day I hop about and get lots of attention from my family. My cat and dog friends let me sleep beside them in their beds. And my 'mom' lets me taste the pumpkin pie filling!
This is my fenced, outdoor play area where I enjoy supervised time each day, and...

Last try for Beautiful RUSTY: FIV+ Cat Needs Home in New York
Is an Easter miracle in the mix? We certainly hope so. Rusty was found in Brooklyn about a year ago. He was hungry and roaming. He is very friendly. A woman did feed him but could not take him in. She is NOW MOVING and he had to be removed from the property. A rescue group offered to take him if he tested negative, but sadly he tested positive for FIV. Cats with FIV may have a compromised immune system, but many do not and live to be...

LOVE THE UNDERDOG 18th Apr 2014, by The Great Animal Rescue Chase
Today we thought we'd share just a little glimpse of some of the dogs at this small, home-based shelter in Serbia run by Goran Samardzic. Harmony Fund sends funds each month to help provide essentials for the dogs here. We thought you'd enjoy seeing some of the lovely faces that wake up here each morning. As you can see, they arrive with a variety of veterinary needs, but this is a place of healing.
Blessings this weekend and always to each of you who share in our international mission to 'Lo...
