IT ALL COMES DOWN TO LOVE
Today the Harmony Fund sent donations to help in the rescue of several dogs internationally, including this one welcomed into the arms of Tony Rowles at the Rudozem Street Dog Rescue in Bulgaria. She's completely captivated by the way it feels to be touched with gentle hands after such a long, long time. Rescue work is full of many pressures, but during moments like this, we see how it all comes down to love.
God bless each & every one of you who lend your strength t...

SEE WHAT THIS OFFICER FOUND ON THE HIGHWAY?
Yes, that's a Chihuahua hunkered down on the concrete median. The California Highway Patrol saved this dog on the I-680 freeway in Walnut Creek on Friday during rush hour. Often a lost dog will take off running under these circumstances, but thankfully this one decided to stay put.
The little one was taken to Contra Costa Animal Control in Martinez, California where a microchip scan will kick off efforts to locate the dog's family.

GENTLE CEMETERY DOG FINALLY SAFE
Volunteer Rescuer Ed Kostro Reports:
This starving canine orphan was homeless, living on the grounds of a huge cemetery. I joined two fellow pet rescuers out there way back in the sub-zero days of January. But the staff at this cemetery, were heartless. They eventually kicked us off of their property. After we left, so did this homeless street orphan. She ended up on icy Lake Michigan, at its mercy.
Chicago’s Fire Department managed to get her off the ice. T...

INJURED EAGLE NOW SAFE, "It's Going to Be OK Sweetheart"
The Harmony Fund recently donated a specialized bow net to the Animal Rescue League of Boston. This gift was not only a way to rescue wildlife in precarious circumstances, but also as a gesture of gratitude for the League's brave and devoted assistance in the rescue of a deer on an icy lake last year.
The bow net turned out to be the perfect tool for the rescue of an injured juvenile bald eagle a few days ago. With the assistance of a lo...

CAT BALANCES ON UTILITY POLE FOR 24+ HOURS,
WHILE HIS "MOM" PLEADS FOR SOMEONE TO HELP
Storm the cat is purring on the bed pillow again after a harrowing 24 hours or more on top of a utility pole.
Gabriel Sanwald of Washington told Pennisula Daily News that she called anyone she could think of to save her beloved cat, but no one would help. The utility company turned down her request, and because the pole belongs to them, firefighters and tree companies did not have permission to access it. ...

Still recovering from a gunshot blast to the chest, Warin Taphaothong would rather die than disappoint the dogs. On the heals of yet another surgery to address deep infection, Warin is back “at work”. Today she wears a gentle smile and a light polka dot apron as she climbs onto her motorbike with a dozen magnificently large pots of food for the strays. The wheels on the bike’s cart squeak and whistle under the weight of so much hot rice and chicken. Her sister Lem tries to stop the pots fr...
