CROCODILE SIGNALS RESCUER, "I'm Still Alive!"
When a young Nile crocodile is stolen from the safety of its river home, it’s as defenseless as a kitten. Sold to a pet store or traded to a private collector, an immature crocodile becomes a pathetic creature deprived of fresh air, of moonlight, of catching fish and of lying in the mid-day sun.
Humans have a misconception about the psyche of crocs and imbue them with villainous qualities because of their design as powerful predators. But the tr...

COLLECTIVE PRAYER FOR BADLY INJURED RESCUER TAMARA RAAB
Saturday, June 21st:
Tamara Raab was the driving force behind the total renovation of the shelter Campulung, Romania last year. Many Harmony Fund supporters donated to help Tamara who organized truck loads of supplies and dozens of volunteers to converge on the shelter and carry out a complete overhaul to improve the lives of more than 1,000 dogs. Though this might have been Tammy's most spectacular leadership role, she has often drive...

WHY PUT STONES IN YOUR BIRD BATH?
By Crystal Carvotta-Brown of MassCats
"I have a hanging bird feeder and bird bath in my back yard. This morning a little bird was flapping his wings frantically in the bird bath. At first I thought he was just cleaning his feathers but then I realized that he was in distress trying to get out."
"I walked over to him and he didn’t even try to fly away so then I thought he was injured. I used a large stick for him to hop on to which he did but then proceede...

OVERHEATED STRAY DOG IS SAVED WITH LOVE
A stray dog with a body temperature of a whopping 108 was found in a field in Indio, California on Tuesday. Though clearly in distress, the dog at first refused to surrender and left the open field where he was found lying down. But determined Riverside County Animal Services officers Jason Salazar and Kyle Stephens corralled him on a nearby street and immediately began cooling him with water and reassuring him that they wouldn't harm him.
The dog, esti...

WOMAN WEARS BLINDFOLD FOR 10 DAYS TO TAME DOBERMAN
- by Marianne Willemse of Love Animal House in Thailand
Bongo had a bad start in life, as most Dobermans do who are bought in anticipation of becoming fierce guard dogs. They are just like all dogs, in need of affection. When he disappointed his owner because he was too nice to the neighbors, he was beaten repeatedly, in the hope that he would serve his purpose and become mean towards intruders on the owner’s property.
At first he took the b...

VETERAN SHIELDS CAR-STRUCK DOG WITH HIS OWN BODY
(Dog is Alive & Recovering)
Iraq war veteran Aaron Schneider crossed three lanes of highway traffic to shield the body of a beagle who had been struck by a car in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
Because the dog was in pain and defensive, it took Aaron a full three house, in the rain, to gain sufficient trust to lift the beagle into a friend's pickup truck.
A US Army Reserve veteran, Aaron told his local FOX news affiliate WDAF that his combat expe...
