OFFICER'S BEST WEAPON IS A WOMAN'S PURSE
How He Used It To Save A Drowning Kitten.....
When he was called to help a near-drowning kitten trapped in a storm drain, Police Officer Jamie Williamson had to be resourceful. The storm drain was full from heavy rain that fell the day before and the kitten was clearly tiring of trying to stay afloat. With no time to wait for the public works department to open the grate, Officer Williamson fashioned an on-the-spot kitten catcher to reach the water leve...

POWERFUL WORDS FROM ROMANIAN RESCUER
"Regimes and politics will have a finite existence. They will pass. The fires of hatred too will diminish in the cool wind of time. But there is one whose existence is eternal, beyond politics, beyond borders, beyond allegiances, beyond nationalism, beyond existence. The greatest power which we have, the power of love... for one another... for our fellow creatures."

PUPPY SAVES 3-YEAR-OLD LOST IN SIBERIAN BEAR COUNTRY
Never underestimate the power of a puppy. A three-year-old girl who had spent 11 days in a Siberian forest was just saved after her puppy led rescuers to her.
In the remote Sakha Republic, a place that is home to many bears and wolves, the toddler somehow stayed alive on river water and berries with the puppy by her side. With overnight temperatures dipping dangerously low, her family feared the worse.
Two days before she was rescued, the p...

FINDING THEIR BLISS: WHAT ABOUT YOUR PETS?
What brings bliss to your rescued pets? Is it simply finding a lovely spring of dried leaves on the catnip plant in the garden. Or perhaps noticing that the dog has dug the perfect bunny hollow under the raised planter.
Today we can't help but notice just how much joy the Harmony Fund's most recent rescued animals are experiencing. We simply can't wait to have our own sanctuary to take in many, many more. A HUGE thanks to all of you who are helping...

BLACK PETS ABANDONED BECAUSE THEY DON'T SHOW UP WELL IN SELFIES
The RSPCA animal charity in the United Kingdom reports that there is a spike in black cats being brought into shelters because their features don't show up well in selfies.
This may sound too strange to be true, but there's been a long standing problem with animals with black fur having a lower rate of adoption because those animals with more colorful coats tend to get noticed more readily.
"There is a national problem with rehom...

“It's not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
― Mother Teresa
ABOUT THIS PHOTO: This photo was taken at the FRIEND animal shelter in Ukraine. Volunteers here have an indomitable spirit and are so thankful that there has been no shelling in their immediate vicinity. Soon we'll be helping raise funds to get the Ukraine animal shelters through the approaching winter. We need to buy both food and fuel to be sure the animals are protected form being hungry and cold.

IF YOUR DOG SHAKES HIS EARS ALOT: CHECK HIS FOOD BOWL
Does your dog paw at his ears? Does he whimper when you touch his ears? Is there brown discharge in your dog's ears? Perhaps your dog is also itching and biting at other parts of his body? If the problem is chronic, did you ever consider what's in your dog's dish could be to blame.
Meet Parker. At 70 pounds, he is still a lap dog and nothing can stop him from catching a tennis ball. His ears were so inflamed that they bled from the tips. Hi...

"DON'T WORRY BUNNY, YOU'LL LIKE IT HERE"
Recently rescued Isis the cat lends a bit of assurance to a bunny named Ruby who escaped a bitter end last week. Ruby was living with a family who saved her from an uncle's rabbit meat farm two years ago. But after raising her in their home, they grew tired of her.
"It's a good thing you came," Ruby's guardian told Harmony Fund Founder Laura Simpson. "My sons were about to eat her."
Yes, she was sincere. The adult sons wanted to try their hand at th...

WOODSMEN HELP TRAPPED FAWN
Here's What They Say About What You See:
"My buddy and I were clearing a right of way for the electric lines and came across this fawn trapped in the fall path of the tree we were about to trim. He was tangled in some thorns and was pretty shaken up after we cut him loose, so we started rubbing his belly to calm him down…. which worked a little too well, as you can see.
He followed us around the job site like a lost puppy for about an hour until I noticed a doe watc...
