YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT SHE DOES IN THE DARK....
A bright light for street dogs!
In Bosnia, brave dog rescuer Arijana Ari gets in her car at midnight each night to try to save dogs from the dog catchers. To understand why, you must understand that the dog catchers are a bit like bounty hunters here, paid by the head, and the municipal pounds are referred to as "horror camps" or "death camps". Because of layers of corruption and apathy, the dogs are rarely fed and out of respect for all of you, ...

ONLY $300 NEEDED TO BUY HAY FOR THE ANIMALS HERE
The enchanting Love Animal House in Thailand is running short on funds to buy hay for the grazing animals this month. We're hoping to put together $300 to send over for the hay which is more costly right now due to a shortage.
The sanctuary's founder Marianne Willemse is in a perpetual struggle to feed the animals. Although she rescues all species of animals, the cows are of such little public interest and no one wants to help feed them. She...

How many of us would love to have the opportunity to see a wild moose. Can't imagine finding any amusement in chasing one down this way. Thank goodness no one, four-legged or two-legged, was injured. What a beautiful animal. May this moose's next encounter be with a much more respectful pair of humans.

DOGS RESCUED FROM WARZONE
If it weren't for all of you, I simply don't know how the dogs of Donetsk would stay alive. The animal shelter in this Ukrainian city, close to the Russian border, is trying to care for hundreds and hundreds of dogs and cats. Two grants have already gone over to the shelter and a third is planned for Tuesday.
Among the recent rescues were an elderly dog suffering from mange and a dachshund puppy with broken front paws. The puppy lost his guardian, a young woman, was h...

SPECIAL AID SENT TO CATS IN NOVI SAD, SERBIA
Thanks to the extreme kindness of a wonderful supporter in New York, we were able to send a substantial donation to the Felix Cat Shelter in Serbia today. Rarely will you encounter a cat sanctuary with so much love and so much consideration given to the comfort of the cats. Each of the cats you see here was taken from circumstances of extreme suffering - although you'd never know it by looking at them now. The sanctuary is run by the indomitable Dan...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY
A year ago we trapped this cat called Mama. She and her two kittens were living on the grounds of a meat market and taking food from the dumpster. We got an alarmed call by a nearby shop owner who said there was a plan to poison the cats.
Mama and her kittens were all trapped and whisked away to their fur-ever home with volunteer Karen F who runs the feral cat barn sanctuary for Harmony Fund. Only problem was, that the cats weren't feral. So, yes, you guessed it. This photo...

LOVE FOR KITTENS FOUND IN A BAG IN SARAJEVO
Today volunteer Edina Pasic made an 8 hour drive to retrieve two newborn kittens. Only yesterday the kittens were found tied in a bag. There were four of them and all were soaking wet. Despite best efforts to warm them, two of the newborns perished.
Now Edina is doing her best to care for the two surviving newborns with formula supplied by the Harmony Fund. We appreciate all your positive thoughts and prayers tonight for the two kittens. We know t...

ONE LITTLE TOWN RAISED $1,350 FOR UKRAINE'S DOGS!
We had an absolutely incredible surprise last week when we heard from a Canadian man named Marc Baur who decided to do something BIG to make sure that the animals at shelters in the Ukraine will not be hungry or cold this winter.
"Our small island community of Bowen, which lies off the coast of Canada, has embarked on a 10 day campaign to raise funds for the Donetsk shelter," Marc said. "Our little local newspaper ran an article and photo abou...

SQUIRREL WHISPERER
Eight-year-old Sabrina shows off one of the boxes of acorns she has collected. The nuts will become winter food for squirrels and chipmunks under the care of a nearby animal rehabilitator.
At a young age, Sabrina has already participated in the care of numerous foster pets and helped in the management of three feral cat colonies.
Way to go kiddo!

SWEETEST CAT UP FOR ADOPTION: MASSACHUSETTS
Iris was rescued earlier this summer and has brought tremendous joy to her foster home in Central Massachusetts. This absolutely gorgeous cat simply can't get enough petting and is so easy to please.
Iris is very ready for a home of her own where she can sleep on the bed, snuggle in your lap and perhaps take a walk in the backyard on the safety of a harness & leash. She does love the outdoors but we prefer not to have her roam. Supervised outdoor t...
