LOVE LANDS IN BULGARIA
Do some of you remember when we helped Tsvetelina Vrancheva create this rescue center in Plovdiv, Bulgaria? It seems like only yesterday that this land was just a plot of dirt with nothing on it but one very determined woman with a great big dream. All the dogs and cats here have come from situations of grave danger and great neglect. It's such a wave of joy to see them safe and happy.

HUGE THANKS TO THE AUSTRALIANS!
The Airedale Terrier Enthusiasts Association of Old has donated $520 to help provide food and care for the dogs under the care of Marianne's Dog Food Bank in Bosnia. The members of the association hosted an auction to raise the funds. There is nothing more special than when a group of people come together and work so hard to help the animals who are counting on us for food and medicine.

FOOD FOR THE DOG ORPHANAGES OF ROMANIA
This is Mira. She's one of hundreds of dogs who are taking refuge at the St. Francis Shelter in Romania. She's about three years old, and like all the others here, she has no family. We're her family. Through our summer Food Drive, we're providing daily meals to Mira and the others here. FEEDING THE STREET ANIMALS IN EXTREME HEAT
In Avsallar, Turkey the temperature is 45 degrees celcius (113 degrees Fahrenheit). It's just awful.
Volunteer Manuela Wroblewski spends 6 hours walking in that heat, bringing food and water to hundreds of dogs and cats who light up when they see her approach.
"I thought I was passing out today as it is so, so hot," Manuela Wroblewski said.

Isn't it amazing how you can fall in love simply by looking at a photograph of an animal? Though many of them live thousands of miles away, you all are the greatest virtual guardians these animals could wish for. The last Sunday of each month is "Super Bowl Sunday" and we have just $5,705 to go in meeting our monthly budget to feed the thousands of animals who are dependent on us.

"DEAD" OWL SURPRISES RESCUER & RETURNS TO FLIGHT
