DOG RESCUES GALAXY OF STRANDED STARFISH !!!
On a tiny reef off the coast of Diani Beach in Kenya, a galaxy of starfish is about to kiss the sun. In the distance, a small, sandy dog named Princess begins cutting across the glassy surface of the Indian Ocean. Perched at the front of a wooden canoe, she's leading the race to bring the sea stars to deeper waters before it's too late.

HELPING HAND FOR THE DOGS OF BOSNIA
Meet Caki Bravo, one of Sarajevo's finest dog rescuers. He has a gentle touch and incredible skill in saving the lives of dogs who are injured, frightened or alone.
Today we've sent a donation to help provide food and care for the dogs. Caki lost track years ago of the numbers he has saved, but there are hundreds.
Just look at how grateful these dogs are to their hero.

LOVE LANDS IN BULGARIA
Do some of you remember when we helped Tsvetelina Vrancheva create this rescue center in Plovdiv, Bulgaria? It seems like only yesterday that this land was just a plot of dirt with nothing on it but one very determined woman with a great big dream. All the dogs and cats here have come from situations of grave danger and great neglect. It's such a wave of joy to see them safe and happy.

HUGE THANKS TO THE AUSTRALIANS!
The Airedale Terrier Enthusiasts Association of Old has donated $520 to help provide food and care for the dogs under the care of Marianne's Dog Food Bank in Bosnia. The members of the association hosted an auction to raise the funds. There is nothing more special than when a group of people come together and work so hard to help the animals who are counting on us for food and medicine.

FOOD FOR THE DOG ORPHANAGES OF ROMANIA
This is Mira. She's one of hundreds of dogs who are taking refuge at the St. Francis Shelter in Romania. She's about three years old, and like all the others here, she has no family. We're her family. Through our summer Food Drive, we're providing daily meals to Mira and the others here. A couple days ago, we sent another $900 to this rescue center, but it surely does get gobbled up quickly. In fact, we'll be passing out nearly a 1/2 million meals this sum...

FEEDING THE STREET ANIMALS IN EXTREME HEAT
In Avsallar, Turkey the temperature is 45 degrees celcius (113 degrees Fahrenheit). It's just awful.
Volunteer Manuela Wroblewski spends 6 hours walking in that heat, bringing food and water to hundreds of dogs and cats who light up when they see her approach.
"I thought I was passing out today as it is so, so hot," Manuela Wroblewski said.
